[TSL] Armor .txi files???

I've been searching through the various directories with the KOTOR Tool and can't find the armor .txi files, nor can I find any of the armors listed in the appearance.2da file as its all player model files.

I need to find it so I can change the envmaptexture settings. I tried simply creating an appropriately named .txi file in the override directory to do the same thing with no luck.

I've been searching through the forums as well and haven't found the answer to my question yet.

So, where is it that I would find the .txi files and or .2da file that lists armor properties in TSL?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I figured out the whole .txi I thing.

Now my problem is this:

When I modify a certian armor's .txi file by using CM_Bright, it still uses the CM_Baremetal protocol despite that.

Do I have to edit a .2da file as well? If so which one? I can't find any lists of specific armors on any of them.

If it involves armor/clothing you'll need to adjust the envmap column in your appearance.2da file as well. Sometimes it's tricky because you'll need to adjust the actual PC / Party member's envmap rather than the armor itself. This kinda sucks as you can only assign one type of shader to the specified character (unless someone has figured a way to bypass this??)... You'll still need to include the .txi files as well... :)

I might have a solution that does not include a TXI or changing the 2da files. This is Provided that your still trying to provide a glow effect to the blue portions of your armor with the baremetal effect for the rest of it being unaffected.

I don't know which program you are using for your texture editing but I have been getting really adept at GIMP. One of it's features are various filters one of the filters it has is lighting effects. Through the use of lighting effects you can apply like a spotlight that illuminates certain portions of the armor.

A prime example of this would be the saber crystal for my Guardian saber which is a part of my lightsaber construction mod. I set a light effect at the corner of the crystal and angled it to provide a soft glowing look from inside the crystal. Also you can take a look at my new T3 skins in my painted droid thread. Many of T3's lighted sensor lenses use a Gflare effect to achieve a new color over the old and personally they look more illuminated than the stock colors. Also another good example might be The Light Blue Lit White Jedi Armor. I used a massive number of Gflares on there goofing around. I was going to scrap it but it kinda grew on me so I left it with the mod.

I don't know if Photoshop has lighting effects but if it does I would highly recommend giving them a try if thats what you use. If it doesn't or if you don't have a program that does then I would recomend downloading GIMP for free and giving it a try.

I'll give that a shot.

I only use Paintshop pro at the moment, but it should have some lighting effects. I tried downloading GIMP a couple of days ago but for some reason the files were screwy and it wouldn't install. Maybe I'll give it another shot when I'm home from work.

Yeah as I recall there was like 2 or 3 file sets I had to download for GIMP but so far it has been worth it for me. For many reasons A because I suck at textures and there is enough there to help me stumble and fall through it much easier.
