You don't need to bother at all with language ID when you refer to a StrRef in the .tlk file :)

like I said, DO NOT play now. Wait for next release.

I'll probably re-pack this version with multi-language files and update the zip at pcgamemods... maybe tomorrow.

As a point of interest, I tried running my game with Germani-fied dialogs. Well, that was fun. :rolleyes:

I didn't get no errors and nothing crashed, but I got permanently locked in the cinematic window with no text displayed. Luckily Alt+F4 still worked.

I made a patch I'd like you to try.

SBS German Patch

 

(instructions are in the readme, but it's the same story - extract everything to Override. Make sure you delete existing secsys.dlg from Override before extracting)

 

Please, tell me if this makes mod run without crashes. Thank you.

You can use them for the German version of your mod.

Stefan, that's very kind of you to translate the text, but I am afraid I can't use this.

 

You see, my primary concern is that the mod works without crashes or lock ups or suchlike. Actual localisation (translation to other languages) is just too much work. (Sorry, but I am not LucasArts or Obsidian)

 

Firstly, the dialogs may change during development of the next version. And even if YOU translate the text, I'll still need to integrate that into different packages and whatnot. Also, if I make fully translated German version, I may get requests from French and Spanish folks.. I don't know how many different versions of TSL are there, but I fear that it may get out of hand. Anyway, I don't want to be translating texts instead of working on actual gameplay.

 

Lastly, this isn't the kind of plot-driven mod where dialogs matter that much. It's about :lsduel:

 

On the second thought, maybe I'll just translate the text in Dutch, so no one gets it, and no one has the advantange. :lol:

Did you copy xc_evo.mod to to SWKOTOR2/Modules (not override but modules folder) as was instructed in the readme?

 

I also would like to know your version of the game and platform (because if it's Xbox i can't help you)
