Tomb King
When I extract a model for a PC the .tga files are text. When I open the text it says the name of the file. In other words no .tga files. Can someone help!

This method enables you to extract and convert the model file and the required textures all in one shot.
Tomb King
Yes. I double click it to extract. I tried to fix it by removing Kotor Tool and install it again but now when I extract I only get a .mdl and .mdx files.
Keiko
Ah, ha, well, I guess you are trying to extract mdl, or mdx files then, that how they are supposed to be.
Tomb King
How do I get .tga files then? Before I extracted the same files and they came with .tga files.

Tomb King
It says: File or assembly name ImageTools, or one of its dependencies, was not found.
Keiko
I belive that you need an image tool that supports tpc to tga, but u should still be able to extract:confused:
Fred Tetra
It sounds to me like have a bad (or really old!) installation of Kotor Tool. First, what it the version number of Kotor Tool? It should be v1.0.1900.40262. Just to be safe, download the installer from the Kotor Tool web site. Uninstall the version you have now from the Add/Remove programs control panel, delete the Fred Tetra folder from your Program Files folder, then run the newly downloaded installer. After installation, you should be able to work just fine.
Tomb King
Still have the same problem. No .tga files and no .tpc to .tga.
Darkkender
This may be something as simple as your settings.xml file either being corupt or you may want to double check your personal settings for KOTOR tool in program options. Frequently when Kotor Tool installs it's updates it resets the settings.xml file meaning you need to turn back on certain settings which are not defaults. Such as kotor tool's tpc2tga converter. Fred Tetra
If Tomb deleted the Fred Tetra folder, there wouldn't be a settings.xml to delete! Tomb, what is the version number of Kotor Tool? Also, if you know how to list a directory into a text file, post that too.
Det. Bart Lasiter
Where are you getting your textures? I know I get mine from Kotor II>BIF's>models.bif>Aurora Models I get a list of .mdl files and then the item textures are down at the bottom, you should just be able to double click it and extract it to a specified directory. Then you should have a folder with a .tga (usually 2), an .mdl, and an .mdl in ascii format. ***edit*** By the way, I have the new version (1.0.1900.40262)
