After my last mod i thought to my self: hey me! why don't you look in the mod request forum for some ideas?

then i saw the perfect mod for me to make. a saber mod!

a mod concisting of five to ten new saber colors in all three hilt variants.

on my list sofar i have:

black

white

blue with an orange glow

not many, but it's a start. any saber color ideas are welcome and verry much appriciated.

And I have an idea, why don't you make a saber with white core and black glow? ;)

He would have to monkey with alpha channels a bit or make it not completely black even then it is kinda pushing it.

Yeah, good point. If it is not done very well, then it would not look good at all.

It looks as if you've either accidentally rotated the Aurora base... or your model's pivot point didn't get aligned to the base model...

This happened to me when I accidentally linked my model to one of the base's planes instead of the proper dummy helper.

Also, be sure you're resetting Xform and aligning your pivot to the "pivot" instead of "center".. option... :)

from your screenies, the hilt is sticking straight up and the blade is sticking outward correct? Shaped like a "T"?

This can happen if your custom model wasn't aligned properly to the base model (the original in-game model that contains the aurora base)...

The aurora base is the BIG square with the arrow that points forward located to the bottom of an imported game model (usually in line with the grid)...

If you accidentally rotate the aurora base (big square) or don't properly align your custom made model with the in-game model.. the "T" shape can happen...

it's not a custom model. it's a standard in-game hilt.

well there goes that theory hehehe :nut:

Is this just happening all of a sudden? Or has this model been in GMAX or MDLOps at some point in time during it's lifespan?

Well now that's very odd indeed...

I've (personally) only ever seen this problem when a model gets tinkered with...

Is the saber in your pic an in-game silver blade or is it a custom color (perchance been HEX edited)? HEX editing can cause this too if an entry has been replaced by character's exceeding the original count (just placing extra dots "." 's won't do the trick)...

I'm at a complete lost if this is just a normal in-game saber that hasn't been altered in any way

Anyone else? I'm struggling here ;) hehe..

Hmm... ok... try this...

Try using MDLOps' renamer function rather than HEX editing the color values...

When you do go to HEX editing (for a custom, unique saber), change ONLY the very first model # variation in the HEX (should be on the 1st or second line)... don't change anything else in the HEX...(let renamer do it)..

with renamer, you can easily change the color and hilt skin to be used for your saber...
