If all you've done is created your own custom skin texture for the same head model then you wouldn't need Xavier2's permission. Just rename the heads model like he did and you'll be fine. I don't have any of my old PM's with him but I had asked about that when I was working on the patches for Jabba's palace.

Unfortunately I tried renaming it and it wouldn't let me use the model anymore :(

Since the only thing Xavier2 has influence over in my new game is the names of the models, do I still need permission? If he's vanished, there's not much chance I'm gonna get it either way?

What did you try renaming the model from and what name did you try to change it to. This should be relatively easy to resolve. Also we will want to make certain all of the proper 2da refernces get changed to match the new naming convention for that model.

For some reason the files won't let me change their names. I kept it the same amount of letters and capitols in the right places (BibFortH to MulLiitO etc) but it still won't work.

Hhmh. I wonder what's wrong with it.

 Windows won't let you rename a file? Or are you refering to the references in the 2da file? Capitol letters don't matter.

I can rename it fine, it's just the second I change a single letter of the tga, mdx or mdl files, it won't work anymore.

I made sure everything in the 2da files was up to scratch but it still won't work, just doesn't like being rearranged.

It still has the extension, an identical number of letters as it intially had and all the 2das have been changed.

It just doesn't like being renamed I guess.

Does an error come up, or does it just go back to the original name?

The only thing I can think of is make sure that you have "autohide known extensions" turned off on your pc. I'm not positive but in some cases as in zip files it will appear you name it yourfile.zip but since windows assigned an extension to it; it makes it yourfile.zip.zip which messes it up.

Hope that helps :D

It's so weird. They're renamed perfectly.

No extra file extensions, no file extensions being cut off, same number of letters, editted 2das.

If I change the name, the head still appears skinless. Does anyone want to look at it and try and work it out?

Are you loading this from a preexisting save? If so go to a point in the game where this head has not been loaded. If your using KMM to load and unload mods delete the old KMM file and have KMM create a new one for you. This can be a occasional problem. If this still doesn't work send me a PM with all of the files including the 2da's in a archive and I will look it over for where the glitch may be.

I'm currently working on something to go alongside the mod which may provide issues of conflict afterwards, so I'm going to finish up what I'm currently doing and then I'll send you an archive.

I've tried a few more times and it's still not working

UPDATE!!!

I've been in and out of hospital recently due to some unpleasant things so I haven't been working on the mod. I got home and found I wasn't pleased with the current skin so I'm reskinning it.

I noticed that a twi'lek PC has been made for TSL but I can still be the first to make one specifically for KOTOR. Yay!

Once the skin's compliled, I'll send you a PM with a link in Darkkender. Hopefully you'll be able to solve the filename problems I've been having.

UPDATE!!!

I sent the link in a PM, Darkkender.

UPDATE!!!

Wahey!

Darkkender has fixed the main problems with the files and now I can upload it to pcgamemods!

Tonight I will update the readme and then upload.

Thanks for all your help!
