sith_master2000
As most people know, about a month ago I released a Bastila Robe for KotOR II. In there I got a request to make a Darkside version of the robe as well. When I heard this request I thought: "Two problems arise from this request. First of all if I could skin, there would have been a Darkside version to go with it. Secondly, The first robe wasn't a completely new item. I replaced the Jal Shey mentor armour." So basicly what I'm asking for is two things: (1) Help on creating a brand new Bastila Robe (Light and Dark) that do not replace any other items, for I don't know how to do that. and (2) Someone to make a Darkside skin for me with which all credit will go to. EDIT: I forgot to mention that I am going on camp tomorrow and won't be back 'til Friday afternoon so I won't be responding after today.
SuperSquall
Believe it or not you'll find that the stuff you want to do is fairly easy, and you picked a good place to start w/ modding. If you don't have it yet, download KotOR Tool. Anywho... (1) Help on creating a brand new Bastila Robe (Light and Dark) that do not replace any other items, for I don't know how to do that.[/b]No problem. To be honest I would start by downloading svosh/chainZ's Bastila Revelation Robes mod, as it is extremely similar to what you're trying to do here (and is a great reference mod and a great standalone mod anyway!). 1.) Rename your .uti file to something like "bastila_light" or (what I suggest) sm2000_bastila_light, or something to that effect. I recommend inventing some sort of prefix for your new items and other added files just to reduce the likelihood of a mod conflict. I do that now, and I know at least a few other modders do it as well. 2.) Take PMBJ01.tga and rename it (lets say) PMBJ81.tga, rename ia_revan_006.tga to ia_revan_086.tga, and then open up your texture .uti file and increase the texture variation by 80 (so in your case, to 86). That should do it. You'll notice I picked 80 is an arbitrary number to add to all of these. This was just a number I picked that I figured might avoid mod conflicts. 60 works just fine, as does 45, all you need to do is make sure that you pick a number that the game isn't already using to store a different item. (2) Someone to make a Darkside skin for me with which all credit will go to.Sure I can do that. Just e-mail me (getdaved@gmail.com) and I can make it for you. Include any guidelines etc you want me to follow (or not if you want me just to try whipping up something crazy... I'm thinking Black and Blue color scheme right now... maybe a little red if it doesn't look evil enough and needs a stronger/more aggressive color). sith_master2000
Is there a way to make it use its own model rather than the Revan robe one? If it does use the Revan robe model (by this I mean I use the PFBJM.mdl for Bastila) it is still replacing something.
ChAiNz.2da
The only way we've been able to do it in the past was to replace the female's clothing column model to that of Bastila's (again however, replacing something)... The only way to make it truly unique is to use an un-used column in the appearance.2da. Unfortunately, I believe TSL uses the Revan's Robe column for the Dancer's Outfit (I think??) and in KotOR I, all of the columns were used... Personally, I've never had a problem replacing clothes... I don't think I've ever had a PC in the game walking around in their default clothing (if so, only for a few minutes).. but it's your personal preference as far as that goes... At least I have never been able to make the game use the model/texture values in new columns added to appearance.2da even if adding a new base item in baseitems.2da and referring the new columns there. The only way around this that I can think of would be through scripting, but I suspect that would be a lot more trouble than it's worth. I.e. applying a disguise or changing the appearance of the player when equipping the item depending on their normal appearance, thus giving them a new set of slots for body variations. And then remove the disguise (or set the appearance back to normal) when the clothing is unequipped. This would require you to make a copy of all the rows for player appearances in appearance.2da to create this new set of looks to switch to that will let them keep their head and skin color. The Revan&starforge robe body variation appears to be unused in TSL.

Yup, I tried this exact same thing a couple times in KotOR and once in TSL hopeing that something changed . but at least we have more body Variations to work with in TSL. sith_master2000
Sorry if this is counted as a bump, it's not meant to be, I'm just announcing that the second version has been released and you can find it here. Screenshots are in the comments section.
