Darth Groovy
That list sucks! Then again, I hate all internet lists, because they are always wrong. Also, I CANNOT believe they left out "Friday The 13th, The Series". Twilight Zone SHOULD have been number one, and Star Trek, is and always shall be a spin off of Forbidden Planet. Put that in your pipe and smoke it Gene!
Katarn07
Star Trek a ripoff of Forbidden Planet you say? As Star Wars is a ripoff of Flash Gordon, and the original Battlestar a ripoff of Star Wars, and the new Battlestar inspired by that ripoff of a ripoff.... Everything is a ripoff of each other if you look at it that way. I saw that movie a long time ago. I had to be 5 at most. So I'm not one to agree or disagree with what you said, just saying that ripoffs aren't always a bad thing. OK, perhaps I was too young to notice that Voyager was bad (the Hirogen rocked, wasn't too young to have misinterpereted that) but am old enough to stand behind what I say about Enterprise. The stories were good. They were all connected to one another quite well and got deep and complex the further into it the show got. The characters were nothing compared to TOS or TNG, but they did have some interesting ones nonetheless. Oh, and I bought the new Battlestar Galactica. Watched the first real episode and loved it. I'm looking foward to watching the rest of these and now am gonna be pissed Sci Fi was moved to digital. I'm either gonna have to (A) convince my parents to upgrade or (B) just wait for the DVDs. Pff, who am I kidding? None of us watch that much TV. It'd be a big waste of money to switch to digital. Just gotta wait for that season 2 boxset I guess
Lightsaberboy
or you could dl the torrents of the eps!
Katarn07
Good call. I hate sitting in this chair and watching shows though. I did it for Enterprise and couldn't stand it. I also did it for Robot Chicken, but that show was 10 minutes long, not 40.
ET Warrior
If your video card has TV-out capabilities you could buy yourself a nice long S-Video cable...
Katarn07
Anyone have any guess how long it'd take for season 2 to come out? I don't even think the season is over, but the next episode doesn't have an airdat until January. What's up with that? Sci Fi either has weird season scheduling or the site I read that on has a typo. Anywho, I'm going to have to download season 2 after seeing the finale of season 1. Galactica Boomer shot Adama; Roslin and Apollo are under arrest; the Ground Crew and Baltar are 'standed' on Kobol (well the Cylon threat was destroyed so a rescue mission shouldn't be too hard); Starbuck, Helo, and Caprica Boomer (pregnant?!) are 'stranded' on Caprica (once again, I can see how they may escape using the Raider Starbuck used to get there, but what are they gonna do with the pregnant Boomer?!) All the episodes leave you wanting to see more, but that one was just too much. That show outdoes every tv action/ adventure/ drama I have ever seen. #1 show in my book. It's got action and adventure, great special effects and battles, great characters with complex stories to them, and some cool political views on stuff. I love it. I hear that Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar have been given the greenlight for a season after the current one running. That's great news for me. Can't wait to see more. toms
Is there a list? I can't be bothered going through all 50 one by one!(i'm lazy i know!) Did someone say no farscape??? if thats true then this list deserves to burn up on re-entry. I think on balance I'd put farscape in the number one position, or at least the top three. access_flux
yeah, but everyones opinion on this list is different. and you can tell it was some damned trekkie who wrote the list.
toms
Hmm gave in and span through the list. The jetsons higher than futurama?!? Stargate Atlantis *spits* even in the list, not least higher than Buffy????? wtf??! Andromeda at 22??? That show stunk nearly as bad as Atlantis. Dark Angel at 19?? That show was ok, but never more than a cheap buffy rip-off with a hot star. Sliders at 10??? It wasn't bad, but no way was it 9 places better than Quantum Leap!! SG-1 at 6????? *goes to prepare bomb* No Farscape? Inconcievable!!! Of the top of my Head: 1 - Star Trek (Original) 2 - Farscape 3 - Quantum Leap 4 - Buffy the Vampire Slayer 5 - Firefly 6 - Babylon 5 7 - Battlestar (new) 8 - TNG 9 - Avengers 10 - Red Dwarf 11 - Dr Who 12 - Futurama though that is a little biased towards modern shows as i wasn't around/have forgotten about some of the older ones. They mention a lot of old obscure shows, but have some odd omissions. The Dead Zone, Birds of Prey, Once and Again, Red Dwarf, Odyssey 5, Alias, Angel etc.. Well, we all know you hate stargate in any form, but apart from that I agree with you, not having Farscape and Red Dwarf on the list was criminal. It would be like having a list of the best ever films with out Star Wars in it somewhere
StormHammer
What a sad list. Personally, I would have placed these in the Top 10... 1. Babylon 5 2. The X-Files (the first 5 seasons) 3. Farscape 4. Dr. Who (the Tom Baker years) 5. The Twilight Zone 6. U.F.O. 7. Captain Scarlet 8. The Avengers 9. Star Trek (original series) 10. Red Dwarf I view all of those as more intelligently written and executed than most of the other series in that list.
