Escape from Monkey Island troubles

I'm replaying this game and I'm about halfway through. I get this error message, Congratulations you've found a bug, 12MB of your resources have been left locked. Does anyone know what this means?

Yes this is the error message that I get. The game will load up after that but its really slow and choppy.

That error made my ability to beat the game a real pain. It ultra pissed me off.

So I'm guessing there is no way to fix it. Bummer.

Well I found a few specific areas that whenever I entered them it would cause it (I think one was the knocked over tree at the base of the church on Monkey Island, don't know if yours is the same) But basically I just did my best to avoid those areas. Also sometimes if I saved it after it slowed down, then quit and loaded that game it would run fine. So there are ways to kinda go around it.
