UTC questions

Lando Griffin

Recommended Posts

I have a couple of questions about the utc. files.

Can i change the appearance by the utc? Like in the basic part of the utc can i when i change the appearance like the dark jedi to mandalorians, will it work?

Can i use the utc to make multiple characters. Like in the mandalorian utc. is there a way to make 3 mandalorians appear instead of one?

Open the .utc file in question using Kotor Tool, then, in the editor, on the Basic tab, use the Appearance menu to change it to what you'd like. When you're finished, save the file. Remember, the .utc has to be placed in your override folder or made part of a module to be seen in the game.

You can always just go into apperences.2da and change the appearance of the cannok to the mandalorian. I'm pretty sure that's how you do it. I'm no authority on the subject, though.

Then you'd get a bunch of Mandalorians named "Cannok" run around and fist fight you while making funny noises. :)

If you want to change all Cannoks into Mandalorians and not just make them look like Mandalorians you'd need to alter all the creature templates (UTC files) for Cannoks in the game.

As far as I remember they are present in both Dxun Jungle areas (401DXN and 402DXN), in the Dxun Tomb Exterior area (410DXN) and in the Telos Restoration Zone area (321TEL). You'd need to change the UTCs in all those modules, but be careful if the files are named the same in several modules since placing those in Override might make you lose special scripts, break cutscenes and make inventory items disappear.
