Darthdude99
I'm new to modding and I was wondering if their are any tutorials on armor retexturing fo Paintshop Pro? The only one's I've seen are for Photoshop so any help will do.
90SK
Nah, the only ones are for photoshop. I use GIMP, but I didn't look at any tutorials, I just used it a lot and eventually I got it. That's the best way to do it, though it takes a very long time. I'd look for a tutorial outside of the forums to guide you through the basics. Ease into modding, you know? However, I strongly urge you to (if you plan on modding a lot) get familiar with scripting and KotOR tool and the like before you begin retexturing. It's just better to get all that under your belt ASAP.
REDJOHNNYMIKE
Yeah, do that^^^first, or end up dumb like me:D Do you mean how to use the program, or the technical side of what to do with the texture?

Jackel
To extract a texture you will need Fred Tetra's KOTOR tool (must have microsoft .net 1.1 installed for this tool to work). Look in the BIF files for the texture you want to extract, hit extract and it will output the file to were you wanted it to go. Load up the file in photoshop, select the parts you want to change the colour of, change the colour of them by using colourise, the colour replacer tool etc. You could probably find bullet holes and scorch marks online and just use them over your texture to make them look damaged. To change the shininess factor from what it is to a more metal design you will have to make a txi file for your texture with the new type of effect
