MI1 Recipe Won't Explode

So I'm on board the ship on the journey part of MI1. I've added all the ingredients to the pot in the kitchen (I double checked against walkthoughs). The pot did not explode. I re-added the ingredients that I could, and the pot still hasn't exploded. Any thoughts?

Have you managed to get hold of the recipe yet?

I'd suggest scouring the ship from the crow's nest to the hold, pick up everything you can. Then look at the recipe, and try to match up all the ingredients with items in your inventory. Be creative

 

Failing that, just try everything putting in your inventory in the pot. Guybrush won't put in anything that you'll need later. If the pot doesn't explode, then you've missed something on the ship.

Also just in case it helps the recipe book is not an object that you can just pick up. You have to open the drawer and "look" at it and Guybrush will see the book and get it automatically.

Careful. That trick only applies to the CD verison of MI. In the orginal, he WILL put in things you will need later wil need later and you'll loose them forever.

Also, my last should be disregarded because I was thinking of the Captain's log, not the recipe book, and Guybrush won't put anything in the pot without the recipe, anyway.
