Commander Obi-Wan
Star Wars: Battlefront II has now been out for a month. I have noticed many people have been asking the same question repeatively. So, as a result, I thought up the idea of creating an FAQ. Anyway..... ******* What is the difference between Battlefront and Battlefront II? Well, Battlefront II has improved. Battlefront II consists of newer modes, characters, levels, and vehicles, and much more. In Battlefront, it was a basic command and conquer setup. Well, in Battlefront II you can play with objectives. Such as in Story Mode you would have to destroy a hero or capture the flag in "Capture the Flag." You now can play as heroes, such as Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and Yoda. Also, a favourite for most Battlefront II gamers - Space Battles. Yes, Space battles. You now can dogfight in space, with starfighter like the Rebel Gunship, ARC-170, X-Wing, etc. What modes are there in Battlefront II? There are many different modes. As I said earlier, there is the Story Mode (like the Historical Campaign in Battlefront), and Capture the Flag. There is 2 modes of CTF. The first one there is only one flag in the centre of the map and you have to bring it to the enemies command post. In the second type of CTF, there is two flags and you must take the enemies flag and bring it to you designated area. Well, there also is Hunt mode, which you get to hunt the native species or be hunt. Like the Ewoks on Endor versus the Scout Troopers. There is Assualt. Basically space battles. You cn set a limit of points. Like 180 points tyo win the battle. There is also Hero Assualt which is just Heroes. Though this levels is currently (mod are being created) only playable on Mos Eisley. Also, the Glactic Conquest is improved quite a bit. It's much more sophisticated. You can choose the bonuses you want to purchase and move where you want to go and purchase more fleets. What are the levels on the Story Mode? Rise of the Empire. (This is where you have to clear the specific objectives) Chapter 1: Fall of the Old Republic - this is basically the floating words at the beginning of the movies. "A shadow looms over the Republic. The Clone Wars have torn a rift across the Galaxy. It's populace weak in allegiance and resolve. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine has commissioned and elite division of clone troopers, the 501st Legion, to vanquish the separatists threat once and for all. Their unwavering loyalty to the Chancellor, combined with the Republic's desperation to see and end to the war, has set the stage for the execution of Palpatine's ultimate plan. Braving the frigid world of Mygeeto, the 501st joins Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi for the first of many crucial battles destined to shape the fate of the galaxy... Part 1: Geonosis - Attack of the Clones Part 2: Mygeeto - Amongst the Ruins Part 3: Coruscant Space - A Desperate Rescue Part 4: Felucia - Heart of Darkness Part 5: Kashyyyk Space - First Line of Defense Part 6: Kashyyyk - A Line in the Sand Part 7: Utapau - Underground Ambush Part 8: Coruscant – Knightfall Chapter 2: Rise of the Empire - "The old Republic has fallen. Emperor Palpatine has created a new Galactic Empire to rule in its place. Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith, has taken command of the elite division of troopers known as the 501st. Now known across the galaxy as Vader's Fist, the 501st strives to establish order in the name of the Galactic Empire. On the once peaceful planet of Naboo, the Emporer orders his newly armored storm troopers to stifle the seeds of rebellion in a diplomatic manager befitting the new Empire... (now you play as imps instead of clones) Part 1: Naboo - Imperial Diplomacy Part 2: Mustafar Space - Preventive Measures Part 3: Mustafar - Tying up Loose Ends Part 4: Kamino - Changing of the Guard Part 5: Death Star - Prison Break Part 6: Polis Massa - Birth of the Rebellion Part 7: Tantive IV - Recovering the Plans Part 8: Yavin 4 Space - Vader's Fist Strikes Back Part 9: Yavin 4 - Revenge of the Empire Part 10: Hoth - Our Finest Hour How do you get point in the Space Battles? It goes in a simple grading system like this: Ships engines (18) Life support (18) Command bridge (18) Comm Array (18) Sensor Relay (18) Frigates (18 each) Starfighters - Bombers, Multi-Purpose, etc. (3 each) Infantry (1 each) Whoever achieves 180 (you can increase or decrease this total) points first, wins. May vary on different systems. What levels are playable? you can play in: Coruscant (Jedi Temple) Dagobah Death Star Endor Felucia Geonosis Hoth Jabba's Palace Kamino Kashyyyk Mos Eisley Mustafar Mygeeto Naboo (Theed) Polis Massa Tantive IV Utapau Yavin 4 And the Space Maps are: Mygeeto Space Tatooine Space Felucia Space Space Hoth Yavin IV Space Kashyyyk Space Where is prone ability? Prone means to "lie down" in Battlefront sense. Well, in Battlefront II, LucasArts and Pandemic, decide to rid of the prone ability because nobody really used it and as Kurgan (an administrator) said "there were "too many buttons" so it "confused players who used it accidentally." Where's Bespin and Rhen Var? Well, this maps weren't include into the game. Rhen Var most likely 'cause it's part of EU and Bespin...well, I have no idea. Also, most of the levels that converted from Battlefront to Battlefront II were altered a bit with a few exceptions. What is the Auto Turret? The Auto turret is a small floating droid that hovers over a designated area of your choosing or if you choose the bonus for Galactic Conquest, it will over over your command posts. The Auto Turret will fire at any enemies that is within its radius. Can you get awards in Battlefront II? Yes. You can get an award for a variety of things. For example, if you kill 12 enemies with a blaster rifle....you get an Elite Rifle, which increases the damage of each blast you fire. Can you completely destroy a capital ship? No. You can not completely destroy a capital ship. But, you can destroy parts necessary for a capital ship to perform tasks. So in a sense you can, but not the whole thing. Meaning a large vacant space where the capital ship once was. After taking the shield you can destroy the Communication Array, Engines, Bridge, Sensor Relay, and Light Support. You can also destroy frigates. In the Story Mode, are the levels timed? Some are. Levels like Hoth and Yavin IV Space you have to complete the level in a certain time limit. And all the objectives that you have to complete, must be completed before your reinforcements run out. How do you slice into vehicles? Weel, you will need somebody who has a fusion cutter. Somebody like Han Solo or a pilot. Place it as your primary weapon and go up to an enemy vehicle. Use it and you will see a meter that is expressed in a percentage. Once that meter has reached 100%, the units in the vehicle will pop out. You will get the award. Be careful of the enemies when they pop out 'cause you can't immediately enter that vehicle. You'll have to wait a few seconds. And once you enter the vehicle, you get a vehicle health regeneration award. Though, it's for the vehicle only. MagnaGuard
U cant destroy Capital ships. Even though u can smash apart things on the CP ship, it doesn't do damge to it. I've blown apart those sphere things on the command bridge (the spheres are seperate from the bridge and aren't a system u get points for) and then it showed me a full health bar for the star destroyer and my bombers missiles did nothing and all systems that were destroyable and get points for were dead. Commander Obi-Wan
zerted, feel free to add.
PoiuyWired
Well, from the outside all damage goes to the shield until its down, most of the time, you see the shield ripple effects. You can't tress the bridge or cumlink from the inside though it seems.

MagnaGuard
I think he means you can not smash the capital ship to pieces.
zerted
Don't forget, if you enter the vehicle you get a vehicle health regeneration award (for that vehicle only). Commander Obi-Wan, you should edit your first post and add any new questions to it. That way everything will be in a nicely formatted post and easily copied.
