Athanasios Posted December 8, 2005 Share Posted December 8, 2005 Since i don't know the exact number each spaceship carries according to the SW database, i would like to ask if the number of turrets shown in the trailers (most hard points are turrets i think) are approaching the numbers mentioned in SW database, or if it "looks" like they approach it. Maybe this is the reason that the huge spaceships (SSD, Eclipse SSDs etc) are not included; simply, extremely many hard points and much texture work to be down. Although, in the game you can sort of get around this, because none of the bigger ships are going to be firing their guns at the same target at once. It's very hard to get all of the angles lined up. Athanasios Posted December 9, 2005 Author Share Posted December 9, 2005 From my side, those lasers fired from SDs and Calamaris look "many" or, in other words, it looks like that two big ships are fighting. Yet, i wouldn't mind to see the double or triple lasers fired . Approaching such a ship with so great fire power (although insufficient for the agile fighters) would require some though before doing so. Btw, this issue (about the turrets) apply to the space stations as well. From the trailers seen, space stations look too weak to defend themselves with no fleets in orbit....i think space station should be equivalent made (from defense aspect) as a ground base; devs said that you can build up a space station, but up to what point? Maybe there is a "fix" form for the stations and you just "buy" the parts until you build the whole structure....no freedom to make a monster-like station. They will have a certain number of hardpoints that you can choose what to put their, but once they're filled that's it. Stations should not be able to defend against an entire attacking force anyway.
