Astrotoy7
Im one of those people that reads multiple books in little snippets at a time. Right now, Im working through : *SW : Dark Nest I : The Joiner King. (The Post NJO Novel) *Survivors Quest by Tim Zahn *The Legacy by RA Salvatore *Homeland(Comic) by RA Salvatore *SW : Dark Lord by James Luceno by the time I finsih each book, a new cycle starts. It usually takes 6mo per cycle, and the end of it all I feel like I have lived through the events of some of the books as they unfolded over a realistic amount of time mtfbwya
Jae Onasi
Just finished "The Cat Who Went Bananas" by Lillian Jackson Braun--it's part of an entire series of books about a man who solves mysteries with the assistance of his brilliant Siamese cat. I'm starting "The Broker" by John Grisham, and "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis (of Narnia fame). Other favorites: Anything by Anne McCaffrey (but especially the Dragonriders series) For sheer humor, The Stainless Steel Rat series and nearly anything by Douglas Adams Tom Clancy (particularly the Jack Ryan books) Star Wars books (naturally) Those Who Hunt the Night (Barbara Hambly)--I'm not usually into vampire stories, but this one is set in 1800's England and is about a vampire forced to recruit 'normal people' to investigate the murder of other vampires. The Wizard of Oz For non-fiction, anything about weather/tornadoes Anything by Dr. Ravi Zacharias--whether or not one is religious, his very intellectual treatment of Christian themes is compelling. I'll warn you that his arguments are very deep and complex and assumes the reader has some background in philosophy/logic; it's definitely not light reading. Medical anything. The Doctor
Update time: Now I'm reading a Star Trek: Voyager book called Chysallis by David Niall Wilson. When the sensors of the USS Voyager detect abundant plant life on an unexpected planet, Captain Janeway leads an away team in search of fresh food supplies. They find lavish gardens inhabited by an enigmatic alien race that holds the gardens sacred. The fragrant blossoms are beautiful, enticing - and far more dangerous than they appear. One by one, the away team begins to fall into deep comas from which they cannot be revived. Unwilling to spread the affliction to Voyager, the away team is trapped on the planet until a cure can be found, but their investigation is perceived as desecration by the devout worshipers of the gardens. Pursued by a fanatical mob, slowly succumbing to the insidious effect of the blossoms, Janeway faces either a violent death - or an endless sleep.
