El Virus
So how many times do I have to say SHENMUE to you people. SHENMUE SHENMUE SHENMUE! I keep saying it, yet rarely do people seem to listen. Shenmue is one of the greatest games created, hugely underrated but unlike any other game out there. It's incredible. The story is interesting, but isn't it only avalaible on Dreamcast?
JofaGuht
The first game is. The second is also on Xbox. But they are saying for the third game they will have remasters of the first two on one of the next-gen consoles.

I am reluctant about buying consoles, I'm not sure it is because I've got no money to waste on such frivolities or because most of the games I do not like. Shuz
Although its very different in art, style and stroytelling, The Longest Journey is another epic adventure game that take you on a personal journey. Naturally it is not as good as GF but still worth playing.
Charie
The three best games ever (from those few I've played): GF, LBA and Sanitarium. These are masterpieces, period. All different, all adventures.

But they are saying for the third game they will have remasters of the first two on one of the next-gen consoles. I don't have a Dreamcast or an Xbox, so I won't be able to try this. But apparently the developers are creating Shenmue Online for the PC. If that's as good as the others in the series I'll give it a tr
JofaGuht
Oh, come on guys. Dreamcast has to be like forty bucks now.
El Virus
Oh, come on guys. Dreamcast has to be like forty bucks now. I always thought it to be better than the Playstation; but I can't get discontinued games, do you think I can get a discontinued console? In addition, 40 Dollars are about 120 Pesos. I'd rather not spend so much money on entertainment. EDIT: James, the GF Half-Life 2 Mod looks very promising. A shame I don't own HL 2.
VampireNaomi
Oh, come on guys. Dreamcast has to be like forty bucks now. If you can find one. I've never seen it in any store I've visited in my life and I don't buy used consoles. Shame really, since Shenmue looks like an interesting experience. Someone mentioned The Longest Journey. It's going to be re-released over here in the PC Best Buy series. What are the good sides and bad sides?
Shuz
The Longest Journey. Good: Long and epic, leaves you with that "I wish it wasn't over" feeling at the end (you don't get that much these days). Very good storyline. likeable characters. Bad: graphics are a bit dated (only low res, but still nice art-wise) has some long winded conversations a few puzzles are just beyond any reasonable logic (the infamous subway key puzzle deserves a mention). VampireNaomi
Thanks, Shuz. Isn't there a sequel being developed?
Shuz
Yes, it's called "Dreamfall". I haven't read that much about it but from what I've seen it has "actiony" bits in it now which has some fans disappointed. However, it looks like a great game and I'll probably get it just for the continuation of the story.
