Guest Zoom Rabbit Posted January 12, 2001 Posted January 12, 2001 This is a true story. My youngest cat, Mickey, likes Rogue Squadron on Nintendo...not the game itself, but the code section. Whenever I plug in the game and go to the code screen, he comes running from wherever he is in the house and sits down right in front of the teevee. When I scroll through the letters, he bats at them. I think that it's the unique 'boingy' sound that the letters make which catch his attention, and he notices that it coincides with the spinning letters on the screen. Mickey never pays attention to anything else on teevee...just that one code screen. The direct audiovisual association of the neat sound and spinning letters make for a miniature "bat 'em" videogame, just simple enough for a cat's limited attention span. My plan is to work him up to harder and harder games, until I can train him as a TIE fighter pilot that I can send online to zap you little b***hes into sparkly stardust. Mu-haw-haw-haw.
