K_Kinnison
I was a Trekkie before Next Gen came out. THe "Next gen series" rundown in MHO Next Gen: Got its fame from the original, then decided to disprove everyhting that made the Original good. Deep Space Swine: Pale comparison to Babylon 5 Vouyeur : Totally disregards it's own main plot line. ANd has turned into a T +A show with the Addition of Sixty of Nine
Deac
Original Series- Captain Kirk kissing a woman and being enslaved. Next Gen- Early episodes were 1 offs. No story arcs 'till later. DS9- Best ever- Humour(Quark), the Dominion war, better characters. More intresting on a space station. Voyager- Started off like next-gen. Later series better. Bab 5- Garbage. Star Wars-The movie which moulded my life. And it's Trekkie!
K_Kinnison
People who are fans of star wars have jsut been called Star Wars fans.. i have herd Warsies. What makes Trekkies stick so well is the fact that the Fans have adopted it. Kinda like Illinois people calling Wisconsin fans CheeseHeads... we LIKE that name

Guest Zoom Rabbit
Yes! Trekkies rule! And you can be a fan of both Trek and Wars... Oh, and Voyager is an excellent show. I like the fact that this is the first Star Trek series to have a storyline which has been continuous from the beginning (unlike DS9, which wandered peripatetically until someone had the bright idea to start a war.) A lot of male trekkies have problems with the female captain, but not me. I think she's a tough fighter and a solid thinker, albeit a bit stubborn on the bad side. Keyan Farlander
I love both Star Trek and Star Wars. The only thing I hate is Voyager. Dang, but that show sucks.

I disagree. Voyager ist the worst by far. They violate the timeline of ST pretty often. Captain Lameway is acting stupid pretty often. Some things absolutly don't make any sense if you think about it(shuttles anyone?, holodeck episodes and they have limited resoucres ...). TOS and DS9 is much better. Guest garyah99
Don't matter, as long as "trek" is in there somewhere. The only series I really didn't like was DS9, until the last season with the Dominion War. It finally started to get interesting, then they cancelled it. Flying Beastie
I'm a <strike>Borg</strike> Trekkie. My favourite series so far is Voyager, with DS9 and New Frontiers (novel series by Peter David) as close seconds. Voyager, BTW, succeeds in spite of 7 of 9's unsuccessful grasping at sex-appeal. I've found that each captain has their own style, so I can't really compare them. Kirk was a jock. Picard was the more cerebral father-figure type ("The thinking man's Action Hero"). Sisko I liked because of that whole serenity thing, but when he gets angry, he's one of the few people I'd actually be scared of. Of all the captains however, the only one I'd follow unquestioningly would be Janeway. From her first scene in "Caretaker," there is no doubt that she is In Command. Ensign. . . At ease before you sprain something. My only real problem with Voyager is that the producers are by now petrified of stumbling with the Star Trek franchise. They feel (rightly so, given some of the more over-critical Trekkies I've met), that the eyes of the world are upon them. For seven years, they've balked at introducing any long-term change for fear that they'll lose viewers. With any luck, now that this is the last season, Voyager will "do a DS9" and take a sudden upswing in story quality. There's no point in holding back anymore; it doesn't matter if every Trekkie on Earth abandons the show before the finale. They're ending now anyway, so they might as well do something daring. They've started out promisingly, with the Paris/Torres pregnancy and Icheb's petition to join Starfleet. Hopefully the Borg'll be back soon (though I was hoping to see the Vaudwaar again) in time to escort the ship home (or not). There may even be a promotion for everybody's favourite bridge officer: Harry "Why-am-I-still-an-ensign?" Kim. ------------------ "Do fish-people eat fish, or would that be like humans eating monkeys?" "Humans do eat monkeys. In fact humans eat other humans. . . Y'know, as a species, we are really quite unpleasant."

JR2000Z
I just watch the late Star Trek movies like Ressurection. I remember there was a thread at this (if you there and remeber) at the LucasArts.com forum. Everybody argued about if SW or ST was better. Guest Redwing
I like both SW and ST, but the annoying thing about ST is that the aliens all look as if they were humans with some sort(s) of unique genetic defects. In SW, anything looking human is generally human. ------------------ At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge. edlib
Yeah, I know what to mean, it just comes off looking cheesy. They did a whole storyline on TNG to explain this away, a 2-parter if I remember correct, but I didn't buy it. We all know what the big difference is: a smaller make-up budget and the rushed TV shooting schedule. Hmmm, maybe creativity may have a small part to play in that as well... Star Wars was made on tiny budget compared to some TV shows being made today, but George had a vision and he wasn't about sacrifice it due to a small issue like lack of funds. Guest Ike
TNG is the best series. end of story. DS9 wasn't bad, Voyager just sucks monkey balls. TOS is good but dated. I'm eager to see the new series.
Andromeda
i agree fully with you Ike. my mom watches Voyager, or as she calls it "Seven of Nine" (no she's not a lesbian, it's just that seven's her favorite char and calling it that bugs my sister ) i love patrick stewart, and Data is funny as hell plus number one is great. just a good show, who cares if it didn't have a storyline oh...and it's trekkie ------------------ If you live to be a hundred, i hope i live to be a hundred minus one so i never have to live without you!
