My First Mod [K2]

I'm so excited! My first mod, ever, is a cookie. I know it's dumb but I like cookies. F.Y.I. It's chocolate chip. I have replaced my Advanced medkit for my cookie, but I ran into a problem.

When I tried to rename and other stuff and stuff, it wouldn't rename the item in TSL. I'm still excited, but I'd like to know how to fix it please. I used the KOTOR tool for the rename and stuff, if it might help.

Might want to try the gff editor to rename it and see if that helps. If that doesn't fix it give us a yell and I am sure we can help you out.

I still can't recongnise a GFF editor. Doesn't the KOTOR tool have a native one? I used that I think.

though the one in kotor tool is versetial it may not work in all cases i suggest the one found in my link it may be used for neverwinter nights but this is the one i use and it has never steered me wrong

It will work well as long as the files you edit don't contain any fields of the Orientation or Vector types, since those field types were added to the GFF format in KotOR, and thus didn't exist in Neverwinter Nights.

 

If you open a file that contains fields of any of those types (mostly ARE and GIT files, but there may be others) it will just strip those fields without saying anything when you load/save, losing their data.

Double click on the kgff.exe file. Select File - Open. Search for oyur uti file. Open it. Then you should see a list of items like "cost" "DescIdentified" etc. Go to the DescIdentified line and change what it says to be whatt you want it to say. Save in your override folder and respawn your item in game and check to see if it worked.

I was testing this on my game, (I havn't played since before my last post) and I discovered that I need to edit the .wav for the mod (still sounds like med-pac) and the character animation (you wouldn't eat a cookie through your leg, would you?) and I am having difficulty uploading my mod on pcgamemods and on lucasfiles. If any of these problems can be solved, that would be great.
