El Sitherino
I'm not sure any of his video game movies has actually made a profit.. so you can't blame the fans. On the contrary. He recieved quite a decent sum of money, spent about 10% of it making and marketting the films, kept the rest as well as the earnings. Quite a profit if you ask me. So let's say he spent maybe... $10,000 dollars. To even make listing you have to have earned at least $12,000 (or something like that). That's $2,000 in initial showings alone. Either way, he's walking away with a hell of a lot more cash than he put in.
BongoBob
resident evil (another seires dumbed down and changed unnecisarily - but not by him this time)... But the thing is, those were actually pretty damn entertaining, and pretty true to the game. IMO, it's the best game to movie adaptation hands down. Its just that those making the movies pick dumb films (HOTD, Dungeon Seige, doom, halo, Mario Bros, Streetfighter etc..) that either have no plot, or are generic in terms of setting. And then they don't get what is important to the franchise, change the important bits and keep the irrelevant bits, dumb it down even more... and then blame video games for being dumb... But with Peter Jackson directing, and with the same Special FX studio working on it that did the FX for LotR, I don't see how they can crap up the Halo movie And that's not just me being a fanboy, although I am a halo fanboy, and although it will probably do well, I'll probably nit pick every detail of the movie "The master cheifs armor is brighter than that! That's not how he held the gun in the game! WTF!"
ET Warrior
But with Peter Jackson directing, Guillermo Del Toro is directing Halo, least as far as recent news is concerned. Peter Jackson is an executive producer.
toms
On the contrary. He recieved quite a decent sum of money, spent about 10% of it making and marketting the films, kept the rest as well as the earnings. HE may have made a profit.. but the movies certainly didn't. Bloodrayne has lost a fortune... unless it suddenly picks up on DVD or something. But with Peter Jackson directing, and with the same Special FX studio working on it that did the FX for LotR, I don't see how they can crap up the Halo movie But... aw heck, i don't have the heart to shatter your illusions and see the hopeful smile drop from your face... i'm sure it will turn out great!!! Darth Groovy
Far Cry now? Christ...way to ruin another good game. Thank Uwe, you ****tard you! All cameras, cameramen, and anything associated with film should put a restraining order on Uwe Boll. Then MAYBE i'll sleep better at night.
