Just One Noob modder question

I'm thinking of taking a crack at making a simple mod. My question is this: can items, item pictures, item textures, etc. from KOTOR 1 be applied as-is to KOTOR II? I know that the items are programmed differently. I would just like to know if there are any graphical differences between KOTORs I and II.

Porting content from KotOR to KotOR II: TSL and vice versa is prohibited by the EULA of TSL I think, and maybe KotOR as well. So you can't do it, I'm afraid

 

If the files are in the TSL game files (which is quite possible), then you can use those versions.

What Darth InSidious said. And you may just find some things are still in K2 from K1. I was certainly pleasantly surprised by some of the left overs. ^_^ Though I can say I don't think item pics work, as I accidentally used an item pic from K1 while making something for K2 and it just showed a blank/white item icon (which I need to fix).

 

I think the work around is if you make look-a-likes/similar from scratch. So, as long as you made it and didn't simply port it, if I remember right that is, that's ok.

I apologize for not making myself clear.

 

I had no intention of porting content from KOTOR I to KOTOR II.

 

I was just curious as to format because if a model, image, etc. could work for both games, that would save me a lot of difficulty because my idea applies to both games.

For modeling, both games use different formats, unfortunately. For skins, they don't use any different formats.
