Point Man Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Well, I can revive this thread, even if nobody could revive the Cubs Cards Win!! Cards Win!!
Jae Onasi Posted August 25, 2006 Author Posted August 25, 2006 We'll see how they do tonight, dearie. I did cheer for the Cards over the Muts, however.
mimartin Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Well, I can revive this thread, even if nobody could revive the Cubs If they played the Astros every night for the rest of the season even the Cubs season could be resurrected. What is the Cubs record against St Louis this year? Something like Cubs 11 wins to the Cardinals 5 wins? Is that true, if so, maybe if the Cubs played the Astros and the Cards every night their season still could be resurrected! Stick a fork in the Astros they are done.
Jae Onasi Posted August 25, 2006 Author Posted August 25, 2006 Yes, I believe it's 11-5 Cubs, and Cubs swept Cards last time they were in St. Louis. I just love pointing that one out to Jimbo.
Cygnus Q'ol Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Yes, I believe it's 11-5 Cubs, and Cubs swept Cards last time they were in St. Louis. I just love pointing that one out to Jimbo. Unfortunately, that sounds like famous last words to me. It is always a good series when these two square off. Still some good baseball left in the dwindling summer. @Jae. One of my very good freinds just had a baby girl. Of course, he named her Addison. Cooky, never die, Cubs fan, this one is.
Jae Onasi Posted August 25, 2006 Author Posted August 25, 2006 At least it wasn't Clark Addison Lizerstien like that one beer commercial.
Point Man Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Bennett hits a drive to left. Murton goes back...back...That's a grand slam! The Cardinals win 10-6 on a walk-off grand slam by Gary Bennett. CARDINALS SWEEP THE sCrUBS!!! Now, where is my broom to present to Jae?
Jae Onasi Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 Yeah, but you couldn't sweep us in our yard like we swept you in yours.
Cygnus Q'ol Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I really don't know what to say to this, except... I hope Jae studied her jedi calming techniques.
Jae Onasi Posted August 28, 2006 Author Posted August 28, 2006 No worries, Jimbo's still alive this morning.
Jae Onasi Posted September 17, 2006 Author Posted September 17, 2006 Cub's Derrek Lee is gone for the season. His daughter, who is 3, lost some vision in one eye and they're running tests to find out what it is. It's never good to lose vision, but a three year old losing vision is very, very bad, because nothing minor causes sudden sight loss at that age. I'm hoping it's not a big deal, but my educated guess is that it could be something as serious as cancer in her eye or brain. He's asked for prayers for his daughter Jada and his family.
