TSL problem - Dantooine surface sends me to main screen (spoilers)

Playing through as dark side, and now I'm at the part where I need to return to Dantooine to wipe out the last of the jedi.

I step out of the craft and the game sends me back to the main screen. Sometimes, before I step out, I notice that game sounds go mute and sometimes I can't click on thing in the ship. (Those don't happen every time, but some of them.)

I've tried working around it by visiting other planets first, changing the order I get the "go back to dantooine" quest from Kreia, etc, but none of it seems to work.

Obligatory:

I meet system requirements

I've played the whole game through with no trouble on light side

I've quit, restarted, tried again, etc.

Dantooine isn't an issue in terms of vertexbuffers, lag, etc.

Any ideas?

That's a corrupted savegame.

Try this:

Open Windows-Explorer and Kotor 2. Right before exiting the Ebon Hawk, switch to the Windows-Explorer (Alt-Tab) and go to your Kotor2 Directory. You should see a folder called "gameinprogress". Inside this folder should be a file for the Khoonda plains module, it's called called 6??DAN.sav (unfortunately I cannot give you the exact name of the module right now as I don't have the game with me. ) Erase it. Then go back to your game and try exiting the Hawk.

The other solution is to warp to the other module, where the mandalorians are. Since you have already done what you had to do in the Khoonda plains module, the warp code should be safe to use at this point in the game.

That worked great.

I guess I should have expected it, but everything I ever killed on Dantooine is back when I did that! Even Akkere! I assume one could actually exploit the game that way and repeat quests to get the extra experience and the light side and dark side rewards both, right?

Yes, it messes things up a bit but at leat you can complete the game.

I wouldn't redo anything that touches the main quest. Just ignore them or you could mess up the global variables and create more problems. Non essential side quests shouldn't cause any problem.
