Darth InSidious
When reskinning an area, is there any way to preserve the animations? I was just trying to reskin the Yavin IV space station in KotOR I and the planet. After I hex edited the models, though, the planet stopped spinning. Is there any way to make the animations work again?
Pavlos
I do not know much about area editing to this extent but I do know that a lot of the area animations happen to be governed by scripts... you may want to decompile the old scripts for the area and see what animations they call to be played with "PlayRoomAnimation()." Hope this helps .
Darth InSidious
Hmm...It's curious, because I compiled these modules before I hex-edited the models/reskinned and it was fine. Hmmm. Edit: Tried that, but the Yavin Station doesn't have any Room Animation-playing scripts...Hmm...
The Source
Usually, reskinning doesn't require scripts. Let me look at KotOR I, and see what is happening. I know from recent experiences that the scripts in KotOR I are different than KotOR II. There are some things that you can and cannot do in KotOR I that youcan in KorOR II. I will let you know what I find out.
Det. Bart Lasiter
Yavin Station is one of the buggiest modules in the game (see function #771 in K1's version of nwscript). You should try out your changes on a different module and see if they work. At the very least it will narrow down the possibilities of what's causing this problem. Darth InSidious
Thanks, but all I've done is part-reskinned it and HEX-edited the models so that it doesn't affect the original. It works fine in TSL, and I tested it briefly on the Rakatan Temple Rooftop and nothing untoward happened...
