Star Wars: The Sith Resurrection Part II: Rise of the Jedi

Greea braced herself with a firm determination. She bolstered it by holding Komad's hand gently, fingers intertwined. She glanced at the image of her father and asked, "What is it?"

Alkea was meditating in a lounge she had found on her way to the quarter deck. She then heard the familiar presence that had been hounding her for training. Isolation will not do you any good. The answer you seek is in the communication room.

Space it Tyrannus. They need privacy and it's not my problem. It wasn't angry but it was enough to get something to fly in one of the bulkheads.

Maybe so but you and I both know that you are not complete without the other half. The voice left her growling.

Frustrated, Alkea stood slowly and walked out of the room. She paused to place the object back before leaving. With a brisk trot, she headed back to the communication room.

Greea's mother spoke up. "As you know, I haven't been very open to you about my side of the family, but now that you've taken it upon yourself to redeem your brother, I think I should be. My grandfather was the Jedi Knight Jaden Korr, but he and my father left the Jedi Order after Luke Skywalker held the Jedi Conclave on Ossus. Dar found out about this years ago, and feeling that this Force Potential was being wasted, he ran away to join the Sith." She said to Greea and Komad.

"So Dar is just greedy for more power?" an inquistive and bored voice drawled behind Greea and Komad. Alkea was standing more like a bored scoundrel would. Her body position said otherwise but her eyes were locked onto the image in fierce concentration and attentiveness. She had come back, much to the nagging of Tyrannus, but forcing herself to be non recognizable. She stood waiting for an answer ignoring any looks her brother or Greea shot her way.

"I think so. Imagine if our parents weren't Jedi, but our grandparents on one side were. Now imagine if they had kept it a secret from us, and then we suddenly found out. That's exactly what happened with Greea's family." Komad said to his sister. "Wouldn't you be a bit angry after something like that?"

"Keep in mind Dar was never part of the Order to begin with, and Jaden Korr left because he couldn't put it first. My guess is that Dar thought thought otherwise, and combining that with a feeling of abandonment by the Jedi, and we've got the makings of a Sith Lord. But I think there's more to it. I learned long ago to never judge things at face value." Komad replied.

"A good lesson to learn and like I said before it depends," Alkea stood there. she smiled sweetly at Greea and said to her, "Sometimes my brother misses the words that I intend in my meaning. Still if we are to fully understand, perhaps your parents should finish their explanation." Alkea then turned her glance towards the holoimages.

Greea gave a glance at her husband. Her look conveyed her concern and wondered if he knew everything he should about his sister.

Greea's father spoke up again. "When Dar left Corellia, he left this Holocron behind, but for the life of me I can't get it open, and neither can your mother, and she's Force Sensitive." He said. "I have a feeling that it will only open for you, Matu or Dar, but I doubt we can find Matu, and it'll be impossible to persuade Dar." He then said. "I'd like you to rendezvous with us on Coruscant ASAP so we can give it to you."

Greea could hardly comprehend what her father siad about the Holocron that Dar had left behind. She was still trying to understand her sister-in-law for she had changed much in the three years she had been gone. She just nodded but didn't say anything to her parents. Alkea responded with a gentle shoulder squeeze and asked Komad, "Shall we go?"

Sitting on the shuttle Alkea maintained a stoic face, one that would have made the old Jedi Masters proud, if that were the case. She didn't want to speak verbally so she did it through the Force. To Komad she said, You're right. I don't want to tell you. I don't want to tell you how hard it was...is to push away the memories of his death.

"They didn't say but I know where to go. It is a cantina, rather rundown, one level under. We used to do a lot of business there," Greea paused before giving the name, "The Hunter's Bounty."

Alkea sat and listened. Even though her brother promised not to bother her anymore, she had the feeling Greea would put him up to it. For that she was grateful. It would get her to talk, something she avoided for the last three years except for Tyrannus.

Greea was saying, "I have to warn you, there are swoop bike punks there and they like to hustle anyone for credits."

"Trust me, I know all about them." Komad replied. He then looked out at the viewport to see Coruscant moving closer and closer. To most, Coruscant was only the political centre of the galaxy, an overcrowded ecumenopolis with little breathing room, but to him and Alkea, it was something far more meaningful: home. He then pointed the shuttle in the general direction of the Hunter's Bounty. He started to feel a bit nervous, as this was the first time he had seen them since his and Greea's wedding.

Brother dearest, do I detect nervousness? Much like your pre wedding jitters? Alkea didn't speak nor did she give anything away. She felt a wave of calm as they neared Coruscant. She wondered if they were going to see their father before they had to leave after their escapade at the Hunter's Bounty. She was actually in the mood for some swoop racing. It sounded like fun.

Alkea jumped out quick and with grace that would rival a cantina dancer. She looked around, making sure that her lightsaber was out of sight. She wasn't dressed like a Jedi so she could blend in with the crowd better. She started walking off, leaving Greea and Komad behind. Piece of cake, she sent to Komad and disappeared.

Greea watched her sister-in-law walk off but didn't say anything. Instead she motioned Komad to follow her into the cantina to meet her parents.

Inside the cantina, Komad looked around for a moment, and couldn't spot Greea's parents. "Any idea where they might be? I'm going to ask the bartender." He said to his wife. He then turned to the bartender. "Excuse me, I'm looking for two middle-aged Rodians, a man and a woman. The man speaks with a Corellian accent, and the woman speaks with a Coruscanti accent." He asked the bartender. "I'm sorry, they specifically requested that their location not be disclosed, except to their daughter or their son-in-law." The bartender replied. "I'm their son-in-law." Komad told him. "Well, you do fit the description they gave, but I still don't trust you." the bartender replied.

Greea rolled her eyes. Of course the bartender won't say anything unless she gave the code to him. Motioning for the bartender to come closer, she whispered conspiratorily, "The cargo has arrived. Need the docking the number." She waited for the bartender to give the response.

Alkea hung around the outside of the cantina. She became interested in a group of swoop riders that were showing off their bikes and the modifications. She hung back looking until one of them caught sight of her and asked, "See something ya like sweets?"

Alkea just smiled and replied, "I used to ride one of these. Brings back memories," and she patted the bike.

"Maybe you would like to race for it?"

Cool it flyboy, Alkea thought. The idea of riding a swoop wasn't bad either. It sounded...exciting. Putting on her best act, she replied, "Sure would, but I don't have a bike." She pouted prettily to make her point.

"No problem. You can ride Holden's."

Alkea was shown a bike that was in fairly good shape. It was an illegal race seeing as the track consisted of running through the air traffic on Coruscant, a drag race if you will. She had the credits to pay if she lost but she figured it was worth it. She wanted to feel alive. As she sat on the bike and waited for the flag to go, her last thought before take off was, Komad's not gonna be pleased.

"Smuggler's code that my parents use when they send for people they want to see. Anyone who is on their customer list will know how to ask," Greea replied. She walked towards a wall in the back towards a section that was hidden from the rest of the cantina. "The are in the back. Let's see, passcode is level two," and Greea punched in a code in the wall and the door opened.

Alkea was gaining speed as she zoomed past any of the air speeders that were running alongside her. The wind rippled through her hair and the adrenaline rushed through her blood like a stimulant. Behind her was her opponent who was having a heck of a time keeping up with her and wondering if she was crazy coming that close to other vehicles. This is great! I feel...free.
