Guest emupiett
[to Everyone but Deac] You guys could provide back-up if you want, but I can create the diversion best alone. [to BING] What do you think they should do?
Guest Hu Man Bing
Okay, the supply convoy is a large logistics train that runs along a magnetic rail. It is about 400m long, and the first class is the third carriage from the front - about 150m from the front. It cruises at high speeds, so the only way you guys can really influence it is if you can somehow stop it. It is fitted with security interlocks so that if a break on the line is discovered, it will demagnetize instantly and slow down. If you guys can bomb the rail or something, we will come to a dead stop at the rupture itself (since the magnetism will continue to push us until we reach the break). Then, I suggest that the majority of you lie in wait at the *end* of the train (that is, 400m from where you bombed the rail) and attack there. That's where the fuel and other such perishables are kept. Meanwhile, we will send guards to the rear to deal with you. As long as you keep your distance and snipe with low-caliber rounds, nobody should get hurt. But you must buy enough time for your one chosen agent. This man must wait 150m from the break, and I will make sure that his coast is largely clear. He will sneak on board and taint the caviar. Then he will attempt to come into Second Class and steal the weapons from armory. I will be waiting for him there and will "chase him off". This is necessary for me to maintain my cover. You'll accomplish your goal (and whatever fuel you can make off with) whilst I'll be congratulated by my superiors for my "bravery". Then we just sit back and wait for Alina to start sweating blood from her pores. Should be fun. What do you think? This is just a plan - it's open to alteration. ------------------ If the Rebels actually won, they'd be out of a job.

Guest Hu Man Bing
If you use your X-Wing, that could cause all sorts of problems. Karn would want to know why our starfighter "defence" (in reality about three Skiprays) managed to let this Rebel starfighter through. Of course he'll overlook the fact that we don't have enough funding to field a decent starfighter defence. I propose that we knock out the rail line with ion disablers. That way, the actual track itself will not be damaged. You will demagnetize the track at a point and we will stop, thus allowing you to do your dirty work AND allowing us to get back on our way without too much of a delay. (It will only take us a few hours to remagnetize the track, instead of a few days to repair physical damage to it.) Where you guys get your ion disabler from, I can't help you with. You'll have to resort to the black market, which will also be very high since we don't have enough funds to crack down or legitimize it. ------------------ If the Rebels actually won, they'd be out of a job. Deac
[To party] I'm going to do the poisoning. I'm gonna need cover and I'm also gonna need to know when you blow out the track so I can get on. You can give me a comm-link. When do we hit? Guest Hu Man Bing
We get a weekly delivery of convoy equipment, most of it packed with food and a few weapons which Karn then sells off (we think). The next shipment is in three days, and the one after that, twelve. We can't do anything unless you guys can somehow get hold of either an ion field cannon (one of those small battlefield things, NOT the anti-starship cannons!) or an EMP mine (which you'll have to secure under the magtrack and detonate). I can't help you with either of those, sadly. But I suspect your black market contacts or the Hutt clan could provide them. ------------------ If the Rebels actually won, they'd be out of a job. Guest Hu Man Bing
Great! Well, the strike happens in three days, and this is what I suggest: 1. You choose a level part of the track to hit. Once the train demagnetizes, gravity takes over, so if you hit the track on a hill or slope, you risk having the train slowly slide down the slope. Not good. 2. Striking agent (ie the one who'll poison the caviar) must hide about 150m from the break, close to where the First Class carriage will stop. He must wait until the main diversion attack is well underway. 3. Diversion force (ie the people who'll attack the rear) must attack the end few carriages of the train. You must use low-caliber rounds or have weapons set to MAIM. My boys will be wearing stormtrooper armor so that shouldn't be too bad - you'll keep them on their toes but won't hurt them. About three minutes into this attack, striking agent should make his move on the First Class carriage. 4. Tap into our radio transmission frequency. I will provide you with the exact frequency and the receive-decrypt code when I know it (about a day before the attack). Listen to us carefully. If you hear me say "get out of here!" then you know I will have engaged your striking agent, AND that he has been successful in poisoning the caviar. If at any time you hear me say "eradicate" or "eradicating", then you'll know something has gone wrong, and you should all clear off as fast as you can. In three days' time I will be the first mate on board the train. I'll try to get all our guards towards the rear when the attack begins. ------------------ If the Rebels actually won, they'd be out of a job. Guest Hu Man Bing
[train proceeds smoothly along track] Commanding Officer: So, Bing. What did the Gov'nor want to see you about? HMB: Well, I had to keep the lights on in my room all the time and people started complaining about the smell. CO: So? What did you tell them? HMB: I said something about insomnia and diarrhoea. CO: Yeah, well. Be careful. You don't want to get him angry. HMB: Yessir. ------------------ If the Rebels actually won, they'd be out of a job. Guest Hu Man Bing
[broadcast on the compromised frequency to all the raiders] HMB: What was that? CO: It's coming from the back of the train. HMB: Are we under attack, sir? (CO checks monitor display) CO: Several raiders. Firing light arms weapons at the end carriage. Bing, go out there and stop them! HMB: Sir, shouldn't somebody guard the munitions and weapons in Carriage Two? CO: Are you questioning my authority? I can do that - take a handful of stormtroopers with you to the rear of the train and fend off those raiders! (HMB considers arguing, but doesn't) HMB: Yessir. (Takes five stormtroopers down towards end of train, then broadcasts loudly enough for raiders to hear.) HMB: Let's take these scum out. The CO can defend the First and Second Carriages. ------------------ If the Rebels actually won, they'd be out of a job.
