MdKnightR Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Has anyone heard about this project? Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight I can't believe they are finally making a movie of this! There isn't much information on it and I discovered it quite by accident when I looked up Michael Rosenbaum's (Smallville's Lex) entry. I just hope it isn't going to be in Anime.

Bob Lion54 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 http://www.dragonlance-movie.com/movie/gallery/ Looks like they have some concept art you can view. Someone posted it in the comments on IMDB.
Prime Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Wow. I actually re-read this a couple months ago. I wonder if this will actually see the light...
Point Man Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Can't wait! The DragonLance Chronicles was one of the things that helped me through a deep funk I experienced back in the 80's.
Prime Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 My understanding is that the universe has gotten a little out of hand over the past few years...
MdKnightR Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 ^^^Quite the understatement, Prime! It got so out of hand that Weiss and Hickman felt compelled to write a new trilogy to right the wrongs, but it didn't help much.
Prime Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Why do you say that (I've only really read the first trilogy and a smattering of other books)?
MdKnightR Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 The Chronicles and the Legends (also known as Twins) trilogies are the only books that really mean much to me. I have not read much of the extended universe books. Margaret Weiss wrote a book about Raistlin's younger days called the Soulforge that was really interesting. My understanding is that the writers of the add-on books that were inspired by the original stories went way off base as far as the original authors vision is concerned. They came back with a 4th installment to the Chronicles called the Dragons of Summer Flame and later with the War of Souls trilogy. Both were interesting reads, but the War of Souls brought Tasselhoff Burrfoot "back to life" and did some other things that, for me, threw things further off balance.
