Meeshman Posted August 24, 2006 Share Posted August 24, 2006 I know a couple of people here, but mainly Redhawke and his phenomenal Ord Madell, have created entire planets, with quests, dialogue, npc, vendors etc. I would really like to try and make a planet myself, but I am just a lowly skinner, and have no knowlege of scripting, so I am requesting someone make or point me at a tutorial. Fiestainabox Posted August 25, 2006 Share Posted August 25, 2006 We can't actually make Completely new planets, we can just string a bunch of recycled modules together and call it a planet, Module editing isn't all that hard, Doom Dealer's tut may be outdated, but its still awesome. Also, Fred's got a Module editor built into the Kotor Tool, which I enjoy using, just its a bit limited due to the maps it supports. DoomDealers Tutorial: Here I suggest Starting off with something easy, like a merchant Square, with a few merchants, and some simple encounters, then move on to really difficult things like scripting Cut scenes. GSCCC also made a great Storyline Tutorial That can be easily applied to planets. GSCCC Tutorial Also, depending on which version of Kotor Your doing the planet for, You may need Darth333 Whereami coordinates extractor (you only need this for Kotor 2.) A recruitment mod, for example. Or simply a single new custom module. A new planet is a lot of work, and it requires knowledge of just about every discipline involved in modding. Darkkender Posted August 26, 2006 Share Posted August 26, 2006 In case people haven't spotted it in the tutorials section Tk102 has had a tutorial that guides people through adding a new planet via the starmap. Here If you combine DoomDealers above tutorial with this tutorial you will succesfully have created a new planet.
