Is there anyone that can really tell me what is going on with the new gmae, like if this is really, how much it would cost, when the came will be out so that we can play and if it is even legal.

There isn't coming a new SWG out, I think you are talking about the emulator which is 100% free.

if you're talking about the emulator, then this post should probly be in that thread. It is 100% free and 100% legal. No idea when it is being released, but you can play it right now if you like, although it's not done, all you can do is walk around really.

Yes, even read the faq at swgemu.com. They don't use any of SOE's server side files, they recreate them all themselves, which isn't hard if you can scan the original product, or in the case of the CU one, have older scans of the orginal product. The only way it would be illegal is if they were charging for it.

It's the same kind of deal as Star Wars fanfilms. The people who make them don't get sued for copying Lucas or borrowing that actor who said the line "TK421, why aren't you at your post?" or using William's music in public because noone's making any money out of it.

 

You know, I bet the world would be a better place if we applied the same philosophy to everything in life, heh.
