HerbieZ
D20, you know as i played through Kotor 1 and 2 i only clocked what the D20 system was less then half a year ago. I never understood the whole rules, stats and point system of the games. But to find that people use this system in real life is shocking. I hope you don't use it to make important decisisions in the everyday world. But to answer your question, No i do not play it. I think it's something best left to the... Jae Onasi
If you're talking PnP, I just picked it up last week to figure out how to do the Jae/Devon duel fairly. I haven't played any PnP stuff in awhile and couldn't find my old copy in the boxes that have moved from place to place to place.... Looking through the book, I thought most of it looks a lot of fun, and some of it looks like it's more of an annoyance than anything else. The folks I gamed with in college wouldn't have bothered with a bunch of tables for types of concealment/cover, for instance. The monster either saw you or he didn't, no muss, no fuss. We also ignored things like standing/sitting/prone positions unless the GM was making a point of something. We also skipped playing with the little figurines, though we did have maps to keep track of where we were in dungeons. My son made up his own character last night and he's very excited about playing a game. Yep, our geek genes live on....
RedHawke
Unfortunately I am likely one of the few who cannot stand the D20 Star Wars game system... I have made this no secret around here either. That being said Bioware needs some major kudos for taking a PnP system I hate to the core of my being and making a darn good game out of it. For me, West End Games D6 Star Wars is the only way to go... sure it has its foibles but it is a solid game.

PnP=Pen(cil) 'n Paper. Yes, getting a scanned copy of books from your cousin is a copyright violation, I believe. I have the '03 edition which is the most recent as far as I know. I'm already used to the d20 combat system so it's no big deal to me to use that over d6 (and I might have a copy of that book in a box in my basement). I'll just ignore the idiot details that are in the current edition.

I believe if you own the book, you can make a copy for personal use, but I'm not a lawyer (nor do I play one on TV ) so I may not be 100% accurate. I checked the SW RPG website--I have the latest edition.

Sabretooth
Ah, the d20 system! Highlight of the Star Wars games! I like the whole concept, though i've never played it. Personally, it looks fun, but I can't bear to stick with tuff like that. Don't have the patience. Its a good thing they incorporated D20 in KotOR, because it finally gave me that role-playing satisfaction while still giving me all the video-gaming goodness.
