Blondbeard
In this topic I want to know how all of you First got into MI,what your first one was, what happened after that etc. Mine is that I went to my friends house One Day and they had got a new game.It looked pretty crap at first and not my type of game, but then i hadn't played it.So after a while of watching I decided to play it,and after learning the controls and solving a few puzzles I actually got really addicted to it.The best thing about it was though was that NOT ONCE did we use help NOT ONCE.Plus it was fun solving the puzzles with my friend and getting that feeling when you solve a puzzle you had been stuck on for ages. The game ''The Curse of Monkey Island''.We had finished it on easy. And had only just started hard.My birthday was arround the corner and i wanted COMI,I got it and got straight in playing the game on hard.Solving puzzles like The gold tooth and everything was like magic and i had got stuck finding a plug for the boat that was great to solve too.Once the game was over I went on to search for the older 2 games. It took about a month but I got it in the bounty pack, the only way i had seen it was in the bounty pack so i got it and sold my old copy to my friend. The older 2 were good,I completed MI1 in 4 days and iam not sure about MI2 but that is my favourite game of the series. Then since completed those 3 i have craved for EMI the moment i saw the first screenshot, and when I got it,it was heaven. ------------------

Then I bought his cd (Monkey Island double pack) and i finished it. Those were the times... ------------------ They don't call me the Bone Master for nothing
TunaMurray1587246291
I started playing Monkey Island in 4th Grade when it was on Sega CD. I bought it at blockbuster for $5 thinking it was a different game that I had played at my friend’s house. Needless to say it was the best mistake I ever made and I got hooked. Years later I bought the Monkey Island Madness CD with some other CD's that were in a LucasArts game pack. Bought a copy of MI3 shortly after and so on. ------------------ <embed width="384" height="128" src="http://www.murraysweb.net/flash/tmurray.swf">
Kingzjester
I played them in a weird order: 2, 3, 1--I never was really hooked up until I played the first one, although I loved DOTT and Indiana Jones 3&4 a priori. ------------------ -Yorick the King's Jester Backfire Killed the Sly - The Adventure Game
Natty
My aunt and cousin are really big adventure game players and one day our families were at my Grandmas house I think it was and she was talking about this game she had gotten called Monkey Island and everything so we borrowed it off her, I got hooked and so did my brothers, after that we borrowd MI2 off her and played that as well, but alas sadly I think my brothers are out-growing Monkey Island, 1 brother prefers games like Railroad Tycoon and Might and Magic, while my other brother basically likes any game where you get to kill people, me I'm always gonna be a Monkey Island girl I've bought MI3 and MI4 and I kinda wish I had bought the other 2 games, oh well, but I played them in order so I'm glad I have ------------------

Tull
In 1994, when I was 13 I was at a friend's house for a few days. He had to go do some jobs for a couple hours so to give me something to do, he started up The Secret Of Monkey Island on his computer and left me to it. I was hooked and the rest is history... Guest The Feral Chicken
My dad borrowed MI1 from someone in his work in about 1992, when I was about 5...I liked it a lot. A couple of years later we got MI2, and I liked that too. But it wasn't until CMI came out that I really though 'Oh, yeah, I rember this Monkey Island thing'. Then I went back and played MI1 and 2 and only then did I fully appreciate Monkey Island. ------------------ Feral
the_xxxxx
When I was about 7, my dad bought it for our Amiga. He played, I watched and kept asking what they were saying. The XXXXX
Taliesin
I played Curse of Monkey Island first in 1997 from a friend who said I was like the guy who played the main part... I was very intrigued to look onto this, I got the game, played it and even though it was one of the best games I played, I was so ticked off at my friend for saying that I was a whimpy, do-gooder, scared of everything (you get the picture...) Anyway, he is now my ex-friend and I've loved Monkey Island ever since ------------------
MagnusB
Weird order: 2-3-1. I played 3-2-1-4. I knew nothing of the history when i played CMI, then after I had finished it, I borrowed MI2 from my neighbour, who was the same person who showed me CMI. After lots of work (and a little cheating, damn ugly bone thing, and voodoo doll) I completed MI2. Later I got MI1, but I`ve never completed it, weird huh? Then I got word that EMI was coming, and I was amazed. I liked the game, and later I`ve gotten in to the finer objects of f. ex MI2. I used to know every sentence in CMI, forgotten some now, but I still know most of the song (A pirate I was meant to be). And that`s why I`m here. Frenchyd
My brother used to play Monkey Island 1 and 2 when I was little, like 6, 7, 8ish... I loved to watch him play it. then CMI came out and He bought it, and I played a little but I was only 10, and I wasn't very good. I ended up leaving the CD at a friends house, and I never finished it.. Then my brother shows up last yearish with Monkey Island 4. I finished it in 3 months then I went and found his old disks of MI1 and MI2. (played in reverse order) still need mi3 though ------------------ FrenchyD http://www.geocities.com/liquid_water4/ Visit my site?
FordPrefect42
I subscribe to PC Gamer and about a year ago they did this thing of the best games ever. They include like 10 full games on their monthly cd one of which was secret of monkey island. I started it up because nothing else would work and got hooked immediatly. ------------------ Everythings cool and froody!! Guest Brighteyesmonkey
I have been a monkey fan for donkeys! I had an Amiga and I didn't know anything about computers. I was given a disk with the words Monkey on it. Put it in. And WOW! Monkey mania. I'm not sure but I think I played it, 2-1-3-4. Or it may have been in the right order. But this was when they had only just started mking them. "When I were knee high to a grasshopper"! ------------------
