Rap Vs. Rock talent

I'm more a metal fan than rock and I don't just choose rock because I hate rap also because you need to do more. A rapper mostly talks (sings) real fast so when he forgets his lyrics he can just say some random words but with rock that's imposible. The singing (screaming) on rock music is way louder so that can get pretty tough when performing live.

Im sure many of you have seen the clips of newreels from the 50s where rock was described as "devil" or "ni**er music" by closed minded members of the community.

Calling it 'devil' music was not meant as a racial pejorative. A lot of it was reaction to the type of dancing done--Elvis' swinging hips got censored on TV, and he was certainly a white boy. A lot of the conservative groups (at least the church groups) felt the music encouraged too much open sexuality, and that was the main objection and why the music got labeled 'devil music'. They'd probably roll in their graves if they saw 'grinding' today.
