Mnk
Ciao
urluckyday
This is the translation version from freetranslation.com: There it is some Italian fans of this fantastic game?. It would please to create me in this topic a small Italian community of Grim Fandango where even if someone that knows the English could translate the eventual news, or also alone to talk about this game. I hope really that it someone is us interested. Bye Next time...put it in english... (Translation): Tradurre la frase il prossimo tempo
elbiolin
Maybe this is better: "Are there any italian fans of this fantastic game? I would like to create a little Grim Fandango italian community on this topic ( I guess he/she meant to say forum) in wich someone who knew english could translate the news (topics?) or at least to talk about the game. I'm truly looking forward for someone interested. Bye" He/she doesn't know english therefore is asking for help to translate from english to italian. Since most of the internet content is in english it's not easy for the people to integrate to theses forums. And that is a shame. Mnk: Come vai? Scusi. Non è facile la tua situazione. Da vero lo so. Edit: Guarda questo link http://diduz76.interfree.it/index.html ¡Buona fortuna!
urluckyday
^I tried translating it...that was really the only translation service that I knew of.
Grim_comician
Legowar> Yes, but after the translation, you have to interpret and correct it yourself so that people can fully understand what it is about.
elbiolin
Grim-comician: Where did you get those lines from your avatar? Are they from someone in particular?
Grim_comician
Heh, I just saw it on another member in another forum, so I just borrowed it to spread the message. Grammar is good! You're free to use it, too.

But I know an insult or two!!! I should blame my grandmother for that. She used to sing me those songs that ... Just kidding!. Only clean songs. Fra6160
Looool, c'mon, c'mon, say some insult! (yeah, I'm still celebrating our victory at the World Cup Championshio of soccer!!!! CAMPIONI DEL MONDO! CAMPIONI DEL MONDO! ABBRACCIAMOCI FORTE, E VOGLIAMOCI TANTO BENE!) A thing:online translations from online traslators aren't good: they just suck. urluckyday
Okay, good to know that I need to learn Italian. Why would any person from another ethnic background be expected to learn English?
Fra6160
Because nowadays the English is an international language which is in fact spoken in all the world.
urluckyday
so then...what's the problem...if everyone else is learning it...
Grim_comician
It's true that the English is our current lingua franca, but it does pay to learn other languages as well. I need to learn Russian so I can speak to my grand mother, or Japanese because I'd like to visit Japan someday and watch raw anime episodes. VampireNaomi
It's also a lot of fun to learn other languages, and I think it broadens one's view of the world. In my opinion, German is the most beautiful language in the world, so I'm studying it. And to be honest, I think it's pretty ignorant to expect that everyone in the world can speak English (generally speaking, not in this thread). I'm not saying that you should then go and learn their language instead, but it's annoying when people just assume that they can use English everywhere. My parents, for example, don't speak English. Then again, on a message board such as this, English is the language that is used, so it's polite to stick to it. I wouldn't go to a Spanish forum and expect them to speak Finnish, for instance. N3mo
@Mnk: Ciao Mnk! Ciao! I was saying I can translate from english to italian for him. There aren't italian community fully dedicated to this game (shame! shame!). This place is the best for discussions and stuff related to Grim Fandango. There's always something to read/talk/know about. Always a pleasure to come back.
