CiceroX Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 The similarities between the two are AMAZING. Alot of characters from Grim in year two such as Chowchilla Charlie, the roulette keeper, the chief of police, etc. are inspired from characters in Casablanca. The story is similar and Manny wears the exact same suit as Rick in Casablanca... I can't even tell you how much the two resemble eachother. Just go see Casablanca!
Frenkieee Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 A lot of us did. I enjoyed it very very much, but I don't know if I'd enjoy it if I didn't first fall in love with GF.
King Dando Posted April 20, 2007 Posted April 20, 2007 Casablanca is one of the movies on my list of movies I need to see. In fact I was watching all my Red Dwarf DVD's recently, one of the episodes from the fourth series is partly based off of Casablanca, and the ending is in fact a parody of Casablanca's ending. "I'm no good at being noble, kid, but it's pretty obvious the problems of two blobs and a droid don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy cosmos." At least, I think its Casablanca...
Rubacava Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Yeah, I watched Casablanca after I'd played Grim Fandango, and I enjoyed it much more than I would have otherwise I think. XD Because this way, I was looking for little Grim Fandango similarities all the way through, it was fun.
urluckyday Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 i have yet to see casablanca, but this may just persuade me to do it sooner...
Yodude1017 Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 The font on the DVD, and the font used on the game packaging are almost the same. Also, they use an actor's name (the name escapes me) as a character in the Casino.
Yosy Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 I saw Casablanca recently and it was really funny to check the similarities between the movie and GF. And the movie itself is captivating, still actual.
