Negative Sun
So I've been on a customization spree ever since a WinXP update messed up my BricoPack skin and I've had to change everything myself...I've done the windows look (toolbars etc...), icons, RocketDock, bootskin and logon screen (all for free as well, in your face Stardock! Try to charge me $50? Ha!) One thing remains though, how does one change the look of this: Any ideas? Let me know...
tk102
Sounds like from this webpage you'll need to do some fairly involved file editing.
Negative Sun
Is there anything else out there that would involve less of my own work? Cause I don't have Photoshop or anything like that and I'd like to get something cool and/or Vista-ish...
Astrotoy7
the vista transformation pack will get you as close to vista as you can want to.... stillm i dont think it changes those shut down options I used to install it just to get that pretty glowing blue orb - my fave aesthetic bit of vista mtfbwya
Negative Sun
Thanks Astro, but I've already got the shiny blue orb, I just need the one thing to fix that logoff screen, because I've got everything else exactly the way I want it...

Astrotoy7
NegSun...thats alot of effort to go to !! Does the logoff box bother you that much !! In Vista, there actually isnt a logoff box at all. Its all managed from the start menu....theres a power button and a lock button - you can choose and customise which works how, but its definitely doesnt bring up that xp type box. Perhaps, in a few months you'll want to play all those yummy DX10 games, and will end up getting Vista anyway mtfbwya
Negative Sun
Good point there Astro, I suppose I can live with it like this, I'm ****ed off anyways cause XP decided to crash on me *cough*again!*cough* so I'm having to install all my customizations again, and my theme isn't working anymore, but I don't know why...I'm gonna make sure everything is up to date first though, hopefully it'll work again soon
Astrotoy7
NegSun... i just did a VTPack installation for a friend to jazz up his media center interface. I noticed that VTP changes that shutdown box....and you can even select to have it switched off it seems... mtfbwya

Astrotoy7
Cool, you got a link by any chance pal? IIRC, this one absolutely zoomed through(of all the different mirrors I found) http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file/fid,64389-page,1-c,downloads/description.html mtfbwya
Negative Sun
Hmm, I'm a bit skeptical about this though Astro, I might give it a go once I've backed up my HDD, because I've recently had a major crash and I'm not looking forward to Episode 2...It's a bit too much to install just for what I want, but I might give it a go after my backup. Cheers though

Cheers though my recommendation....its not that breathtakin, definitely not worth a reformat ! in the meantime try the zune theme - its an offical MS theme, so no danger in installing it and gives xp a bit of a fresher look(logoff box is still blue though IIRC) LINKY - just scroll down to the bottom mtfbwya
Negative Sun
It's allright I've got a Vista-ish theme already that I enjoy, I've made it work, I had to patch a system file somewhere, took me ages to find out how though lol, it's just the logoff box that was annoying me, but I guess I can live with that... RoxStar
I really don't suggest editing windows, it can harm you even if you are doing the right thng. Not really *editing* windows per se, just simply running programs that adjust its look. I just use new themes, nothing more. *shrug*

CLONECOMMANDER501
Your Not alone, but all it is is texture editing, it doesn't affect the way your system runs. OR DOES IT?
