Char Ell Posted May 19, 2007 Share Posted May 19, 2007 As reported by TGDaily, Microsoft has finally come out and said that they won't make any more 32-bit operating systems after Windows Server 2008. If they dont, the impact is easy to be predicted: everyone who wants to use that new OS will need to buy appropriate hardware. last I checked, not too many 32bit CPUs were being made anymore It was inevitable though.... that 3GB RAM max restriction was a brick wall for developers and power users - Its no longer on the horizon as far as high end apps and gaming for the future are concerned... mtfbwya Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's related to CPU and Memory relations. 64 bit is technically be able to "run twice as fast" with appropriate memory and processor. I think it's a good idea.
