Jason Bourne and Darth Revan

In case many of you have not come to realise, there is quite a lot of similarities between Jason Bourne (The Bourne Trilogy) and Darth Revan. Aside from the fact both live in a completely different Galaxy and have different careers, they are in fact similar.

 

We start off with their current status: both are amnesiacs. When these characters have awoken, they had no idea who and what they were. And gradually when the story builds, they discover their true identities. Revan, once been a Dark Lord of the Sith, while Bourne being a former CIA assassin.

 

Both these characters are also being hunted by an organisation in hopes to terminate them. In KoTOR, Revan was being chased by the Sith, and had sent teams of Dark Jedi, a Bounty Hunter and even Darth Malak's apprentice. All have failed in hopes to kill Revan. In the Bourne Trilogy, Treadstone was, metiphorically speaking, the Sith. And so they sent Assassins to terminate Bourne: all have also failed.

 

Another thing Revan and Bourne have in common is that they both receive segments of their past lives. Jason slowly remebers his past by receiving new memories (as seen in the movies) while Revan had received visions of his former life (flashes of the Dark Lord and the Star Maps)

Once they receive a memory, they are after the same thing; the truth. For example, we all know Revan had remembered something about the True Sith, and so walked alone into the Unknown Regions to find them. In the Bourne Ultimatum, Bourne kept receiving visions of his recruitment for Treadstone at a facility. He must discovered what and why he was there.

 

In KoTOR, it is canon that Revan chooses to remain light sided at the end of the game by saying "Darth Revan is dead. I am now ____" when he confronted Bastila. Bourne saying something similar to Dr. Albert Hirsch in the Facility "I am no longer Jason Bourne". These two individuals have abandoned their past and moved on.

 

In conclusion, I feel I may have presented this rather short essay (it wasn't exactly intended to be an Essay, but more of an realisation) to prove that Jason Bourne and Darth Revan share the same lives. Any of you's got any arguments to set fourth?

Interesting Synopsis, i can see where your coming from and both characters do seem to share similar traits (hey maybe Bourne's prior life was Darth Revan, ).

Interesting enough, some of the best characters seems to suffer for something. I like the comparison between the two very different yet kinda similar people, but i never imagined Bourne and Revan. I guess I should watch the movies and play KOTOR more.

Neither did I untill I went and saw the Bourne Ultamatum. That movie was awsome! And after watching it, I suddenly realised a comparison between the two characters.
