Alkonium
"Simple yes, but you're thinking of Niman. We naturally emphasise certain aspects of lightsaber combat, but Niman has no true emphasis, and no weaknesses to truly exploit." Kalla replied. "I'm planning on training more with that form later on, speaking of which, Reyvan's waiting for me in here." Kalla then entered the room. "Sorry I'm late, Master." She told Reyvan. "I'll see you when it's over then." Gieph replied, laying back on the operating table. Soon after, everything faded to black as the doctors injected the anesthetics. JediMaster12
((Actually I gave the near exact definition that Kreia gives for Shi-Cho)) "No apologies warranted," Reyvan replied. "How goes your father?" Tonatius knew he was somewhat dismissed but decided to watch. He was curious about the temple training and wanted to see for himself. He became aware of a slight coldness that overcame him and he thought he heard someone in his mind. Jun-la felt the cold rise up her spine and looked at her brother. Her brother showed no signs of moving or even feeling it and wondered what it was. She distinctly felt the presence of a youth in her mind. Alkonium
"I'm not sure. An old boyfriend of his was reported dead this morning, and I think that just might have ruined his day." Kalla replied, activating her lightsaber and reducing the strength to something more suitable for training. Following the surgery, Gieph checked over his new mechanical legs. They actually moved when they were supposed to, the joints seemed to work properly, and most important of all, they looked real. "I'm impressed. I never thought you guys did much cybernetics. I figured you were only good with the Force." He told Andros, walking stably out of medbay. Komad was going towards the Archives to check about any known Dark Side cults that might still exist in order to get a better idea of who might have killed Roan, when he saw Tonatius looking around. "What are you doing here? I thought you were back at my apartment." He asked.
JediMaster12
"You know the stories that are told. We are where the Force began," Andros replied. "Perhaps we dine and discuss mobilization?" Tonatius replied, "You were here. I came." It was suitable and hid the distraction that he felt. The coldness was increasing and something came into his mind, Behind you! Quick as a flash, he withdrew his sword and hurled it behind him. Jun-la could see the image as clearly as if she were there. She saw the figure and the coldness touched her spine. It was clear that the intention was to ambush. Silently she shouted "Behind you!" and prayed that the youth heard her.
Alkonium
Komad immediately drew his lightsaber, sensing the geniune fear in Tonatius. He sensed a dark presence as well, but he was unable to determine what it was. He looked at where the sword stuck into the wall. "You hit your target, and noone was hurt, but you should still know better than to blindly throw your sword at an enemy like that." Komad reprimanded Tonatius for his seemingly reckless behaviour. "Sounds, good. I'll need all the intel you've got before we can proceed with any military action against these Rashikians." Gieph replied. This shift his demenour and attitude was typical of Gieph, who was easy going and uncouth off-duty, and focused and well-mannered while on-duty. "What was that?" Kalla asked as she sensed Tonatius throw his blade across the hall. "Did do you sense that, master?"
JediMaster12
Tonatius ignored the rubuke. He had heard the warning and felt the presences and reacted but the presence was still there. He looked around with narrowed eyes before placing the palms of his hands in a prayer pose and closed his eyes. He shut everything out and concentrated. Then as quick a a flash, he moved and grabbed it's throat. The creature was an Outcast, trained very well. It was not yet a full Rashikian but it was already starting to smell of death. Tonatius held it by the throat with a strong grip and gave a hard stare. He spoke in Avalonian, "Outcast you have entered where you are not welcomed. Who sent you?" Reyvan, who had been watching commented, "It is obviously not my doing." Andros grinned. His sister Padmé led the way to the Governor's dining hall. Lady Governer Leila motioned and said, "Please sit." Andros replied, "Your halls are silent as of late." "Dark days are coming Master Kenobi. The wheel has turned full circle." "Indeed. We must uphold the oaths sworn by our people and honored by the Guardian." "Which is why your friend is here. Tell me Gieph, what is the current status of the unit you served in?" the Lady Governor asked. Jun-la ignored the conversation, her thoughts dwelling on the images she had seen. Her gift was sight but she had never seen something in present like that before. It bothered her so much that she didn't acknowledge the looks that Matton gave her nor did she say anything during the meal. Instead she sat and wished it were over so she could discuss what she saw with her brother.
Alkonium
"And how did you manage to infiltrate the Temple so easily?" Komad asked the Rashikian. This one was different from those who attacked Tython. They were battle-hardened warriors, willing to die for their evil cause, but this one appeared to be a novice, eager for first blood, but afraid to completely commit himself to the cause. "To be honest, I'm the only member of my squad still alive, so I hope getting my squadmates to join us wasn't part of the plan." Gielh replied. He did not like to talk about his squadmates, but they had to know.
JediMaster12
"You forgetting about me Gieph?" Matton asked teasingly, "You know I was there too." Andros listened to the replies and figured out that perhaps there was a problem with mobilization. He said gently, "We were hoping that there would be some left. All were good men and they know what to expect from the Rashikians." Tonatius said, as if reading Komad's thoughts, "Not a novice. Has several years this one has. Already death clings to him. It makes air stink." He looked at the Outcast in his grip and demanded again in Avalonian, this time in the harsher tones of the second river." The Outcast replied in the same language, "The Lord is coming. He comes for blood and he shall conquer and rule." Tonatius replied in Avalonian, oblivious to the fact that his listeners had no idea of what he was saying, "The whell has come full circle and the Guardian will come and smote the ruin of your Lord." Then turning to Komad he said in Basic, "I hope your Senate is willing to mobilize."
Alkonium
"Enough are in favour of mobilising the military, problem is that those opposed are willing to secede from the Republic, and ironically enough, bring about a civil war over it. Of course the debate's not really about restoring the military, it's about trusting the Jedi." Komad replied. "Some of them even want action taken against the Order after what happened to Roan." "You remember pulling me out of that wreckage. And besides, the other three members of my squad were composite clones, the advanced aging necessary for the creation of military clones would have rendered them old and frail by now." Gieph commented.
JediMaster12
"Aye," Andros replied and stared a bit into space. "Perhaps we need someone with experience to work on tactical maneuvers. This conflict is between our people and the Rashikians but the Republic is our protectorate. It is as much as their war as it is ours." "Agreed Father," Jun-la added, "Right now we must mobilize. Without the approval of the Senate if we must. Avalon is a sovereignty and has always done what it has according to the code of honor. They seceded from the Empire when Palpatine took over but they always defended those that needed it, especially the Alliance." Turning to Gieph she asked, "Are you willing to lead men again honored friend of my father?" "Politics should have no place when the citizenry are to be affected," Tonatius muttered under his breath. Louder he said, "It is an Avalonian threat yet because the Republic is guarded by them, the Republic is threatened. Should Avalon fall, a darkness greater than those of the last Sith Lords will fall over the systems."
Alkonium
(let me know if there's any problems with the character I just introduced) "Clearly you do not understand the democratic process." Komad commented. "And I am well aware of the gravity of the situation. Why do you think I have pushing the Senate so hard to vote in favour of reinstating the army?" Though he was considered an adult in his society, Komad could still see the arrogance of youth in Tonatius. "I am willing to lead, even if there are none willing to follow." Gieph replied, quoting an old saying used amongst Republic military leaders during the war. He knew that it was best to combine both inspiration and tactics when leading troops; inspiration to raise their spirits and give them the will to fight, and tactics to ensure that they knew what they were doing. Hearing the noises outside, Kalla stepped out, worried Tonatius might have been hurt. "What happened out here? Are you alright?" She asked, not noticing that her father was nearby. Andorra Evenstar, adopted daughter of governor Leila, watched from above as her mother met with the once-crippled Republic soldier, but as always her gaze seemed to be drawn towards Jun-la. She admired her bravery, her determination, and her beauty, but never admitted her feelings for her to anyone, knowing such things could never be, as Jun-la was far too old for her, and preferred men anyway. JediMaster12
((Never really had Leila married...yet. She is a cousin of Andros and I had a whole backstory as to how she became Governor instead of her brother. I am curious though if you have an obsession with GLBT)) "Not arrogance speaking," Tonatius replied as if hearing Komad's thoughts, "But of the truth. Yes the decision must be agreed on to go to war but when one hangs to the rear of every issue so that if teh others sink, they shall remain afloat, it is weakness. Those who would give up some of their liberties in order to ensure temporary safety deserve neither." Tonatius then turned to see the daughter come up. She asked if he were alright, the usual of what his mother asked. He said to her, "Nothing but a lifetime of training." Andros nodded in agreement. He looked to his sister and the governor and they nodded. The Governor stood up and spoke, "Then you shall lead the Water Benders of Belos." Alkonium
(so should I rework her to be affiliated with the governor in a different way (palace staff, maybe) or would you rather just leave it a mystery who her father is? I've got this idea for something akin to Hethra and Almalexia's backstory in Part V involving her and Kalla, so I'd rather not just edit her out. And about the GLBT obsession, all I'm going to say is maybe.) "I understand that, but the other side of the debate does not." Komad commented. When he heard his daughter ask Tonatius, he added "He was more prepared for that Rashikian than I was." This shocked Kalla, as she realised her father's life might have been in danger. "A Rashikian, here in the Temple?!" She asked. "Apparently. We're still not sure how he got in here." Komad replied. Kalla then turned to Tonatius. "Then thank you for saving my father's life." She said, kissing Tonatius on the cheek. "I accept the honour. Now, I'll need what I can about who I am leading so they can do their best against the Rashikians." Gieph replied, maintaining focus on his duty, somewhat unaware that it might sound slightly rude.
JediMaster12
((If you are it's ok. I was just curious since most people aren't that courageous to do so. I have gay friends so it's not a problem. As to the character she should be connected to Almalexia, maybe a relation or a deeply loved friend that was thought dead. There is the idea that Avalonians have someone who are their serious partners and their joking partners. The character could be a joking and serious partner.)) "They do not understand because they are afriad and they cannot see it. When you see what you fear most, the way is lit. When you don't, the way is shut. It is built by that which is the dark light and the shadows keep it." Tonatius looked at Komad with a serious expression on his face. He said, "Grace let me see by hearing. Her voice said behind." He kept his serious expression. It didn't flinch a bit when Kalla asked about the Rashikian that was still in his grasp nor when she kissed him. The Rashikian muttered inthe harsh language, "You fight for the weak that is why you will lose." Tonatius twisted the arm he was holding tighter and muttered in the second river, "They deserve to choose for themselves." He then looked at Komad and said, "PErhaps the prisoner will decide for those that lag behind?"
Alkonium
(Well, I do have some bisexual leanings, though given my uneventful love life, it makes little difference anyway. I'm wondering though why you're only bringing this up now, considering how much GLBT stuff I've put into this RP in particular. And I'm not sure if that would work, since I was thinking she'd be only a year or two older than Kalla, so I don't think she'd have known Almalexia until after she and Hethra were reunited, unless you mean she's Almalexia's niece or something. Also, I'm planning for her to have a relationship with Kalla in Part V, and I'm not a fan of big age gaps, unless lifespans are taken into account.) "I doubt it. We can't just walk into the Senate with a Rashikian behind us. Too much risk." Komad replied. "There's no time anyway. Congress is out for the rest of the day, and voting is to take place tomorrow. Fortunately, as I said before, there are enough likely to vote in favour for the motion to pass."
JediMaster12
((Alright that may be it or a young cousin. Something to think about. I brought it up because I just noticed a trend. One or two could be labeled coincidence, three you are on to something. Just a habit from observation)) "Not dangerous if you don't give him what he needs," Tonatius replied, "but since you are willing to follow this find place for lockup we must." Alkonium
(Ok, and how about she's the governor's adoptive daughter, which would explain why she's in the palace, and why the governor has a daughter without ever being married. The real trouble though will be finding someone to play her in Part V.) "I agree, but I can't think of anything short of an actual prison cell that might hold him and even that would draw too much attention." Komad replied. "I should get back to training, I'll let you two figure out what to do with the Rashikian." Kalla told Komad and Tonatius, leaving to return to training with Reyvan. After Kalla left, Komad pointed out to Tonatius. "I've noticed Kalla's taken a bit of a liking to you." Andorra overheard the discussion and immediately thought of how her older cousin Almalexia had lost her husband Hethra in the Rashikian attack on Tython. She joined the group below and said to Gieph, "I certainly hope that with your help, we can prevent another attack like the one on Tython." To which Gieph responded "I don't believe we've met, I'm Gieph, former Republic Commando, and you are?" "Andorra, adopted daughter of Lady Governor Leila." Andorra replied, shaking Gieph's hand. JediMaster12
((That will work. Avalonians have been know to adopt those not blood related. Reasons vary and love is never really considered one but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. Andorra would say, "adopted daughter of Lady Governor...")) "Rashikians are not magicians," Tonatius replied shocked at the veneration Komad was giving to this enemy. "Don't give what is needed to escape." Andros said, "Andorra, a pleasant surprise. I haven't seen you since my cousin gave you a home. How goes your life?"
Alkonium
(Ok. Tysyacha might be playing the character in Part V.) "It's been good, but I heard that my cousin Almaleixa lost her husband in the attack on Tython, and I've been more worried about her than myself." Andorra replied. "He managed to get into the Temple without being detected, and security here isn't exactly light." Komad commented. "You might be underestimating him a bit." JediMaster12
"She is a strong woman," Andros replied, "Besides she has her sons to see her through." Jun-la thought about it for a moment. She hadn't met Almalexia's sons but she thought one of them looked like the one who died in her arms not long ago. She brushed the thoughts aside and asked Gieph, "Have you met the Bushido of Belos? They have a unique history." Tonatius didn't know how to explain so he repeated, "Not magicians but know how to move. Train to detect." He knew he was sounding garbled but when he had been taught, it had been in Avalonian and truth be told, not everything transferred smoothly over into Basic. Taking binders from his belt, he bounded the captive Rashikian and tied the chain to a pillar. He unhooked his sword from his belt and held it sheathed. Without warning, he gave a huge clout to the Rashikian, much to the suprise of everyone there. The reaction was instantaneous and the Rashikian seemingly disappeared. Tonatius repeated, "Not magicians," and retied his sword to his belt.
Alkonium
"I fought alongside them once during the war, but that was a long time ago, and I didn't really learn much aside from firsthand experience on how they fight." Gieph replied, interested in hearing more. Komad still sensed the Rashikian's presence, though he could not see him. "There are a few holding cells here. We mainly use them for practice droid storage, but they should work. They lock from the outside, and the vents are too small to work as an escape route." He suggested to Tonatius. "Because these droids frequently get destroyed by practicing apprentices, there should be at least one empty."
JediMaster12
"They are known to be the best of all the warrior tribes, more particularly the Haida tribe. They are fierce, daring and fight out of loyalty to their people and their home," Jun-la explained, "My grandmother Master Ashira-Li Starlighter was a Haida woman during the Clone Wars." Alkonium
(Would Andorra have taken the governor's last name upon being adopted, or would she keep her biological family name?) "Yes, I see." Komad replied. "Now, the only problem will be keeping him from suffocating. Keep in mind, they're designed for droid storage, not detainment. The only reason we're so secure with them is incase the droid malfunctions." "Really? How do they compare to Jedi?" Gieph asked. "I'm not so sure. The last thing I heard from her, her son Tonatius had gone missing recently." Andorra replied. Though her biological father and Almalexia's father were brothers, she was actually only three years older than Almalexia's twin sons, and often felt she had more in common with them than with Almalexia herself. JediMaster12
((No she would keep her family name.)) "They actually fight different from the Jedi and in fact more Jedi have come from the Haida tribe," Jun-la explained. "They know the land and how to read what cannot be seen. They can see what a Jedi misses." "I know Tonatius left home," Andros replied, "And not missing. She worries with mother's worry but he is capable and his twin is with her." He had an idea what happened when Andorra mentioned that Tonatius was not with his mother. Tonatius was more like his Avalonian brethren, taking the oath of loyalty and defense of the Republic seriously. Taryn, his brother was more Jedi like, like his father. Tonatius muttered something in Avalonian before saying, "Ventilation holes?"
Alkonium
"Jedi don't miss much, and I doubt they're as diverse as Jedi." Gieph commented, doubting they were entirely superior to the Jedi Order. Just as the Republic military recruited from every Republic world and member species, so did the Jedi. This diversity is what he believed gave the Jedi Order its strength, aside from the Force. "Very well, I doubt the droids would notice anyway." Komad replied, slightly annoyed with how much Tonatius was requesting of him. "Then where is he, exactly?" Andorra asked, concerned for her cousin's son, though it was unlikely that she would tell Almalexia if she knew, nor go after him herself.
