Star Wars: The Sith Resurrection Part IV: Alliances Divided

"In some ways even you are more capable than a Jedi," Jun-la explained, "You can hear the Force in a manner they cannot. No one is truly superior."

"Respect all life no matter how evil the person is," Tonatius replied, knowing that Komad was irritated. "Just enough to breathe."

"No idea where he might be but my guess is that he is still on Coruscant or a neighboring system," Andros replied with nonchalance.

"Why would he go to Coruscant?" Andorra asked, if only to satisfy her own curiosity. "The Rashikians haven't made any attacks past the Outer Rim."

"I am well aware of that. Keep in mind, the war with the Sith ravaged the galaxy for the first twenty-four years of my life. I'd say I know more about how hard it is to kill than you." Komad told Tonatius. "I shouldn't be so hard on you. You remind me of myself when I was younger, back during the war: bold, headstrong, a bit arrogant. But it cost me dearly." Komad added, holding up his right hand for emphasis.

"Did you experience it first hand?" Komad asked with a sombre tone in his voice, already knowing the answer.

"I don't think so. Coruscant is too far away for tribal divisions to have an effect there." Andorra commented.

(That's probably my last post as Andorra. Tysyacha agreed to take over the character, and will probably start on Thursday.)

((Ok. That'll be great))

Tonatius didn't answer. Instead he said, "The divisions now are happening like they did when the Force began and four millenia ago. Even the oldest and wisest of the Water Bender Masters couldn't ignore it. Some saw it as a means to increas their power, others not so." His eyes locked on to Komad's.

"You forget young Andorra that our people have exists for millenia. Early exploration. The call of home," Andros replied.

"Four millenia ago, yes, I'm familiar with that time period. My family line is descended from Revan himself. I'd say that this is more similar to the crisis prior to the Clone Wars than the Jedi Civil War." Komad replied. "The Senate is far more divided than the Jedi right now."

"That is not right," Tonatius replied confused, "Revan is the ancestor of one you know well Master Starlighter. His mother looked exactly her. One foot in Avalon one in the Republic." He looked thoroughly confused. Old Petronius was never known to lie and he never did up until the day he died leaving Master Ashira-Li Starlighter alone during the time of the Empire.

(I'm really confused. Did Tonatius just think someone else said that due to a weird telepathy related thing or something? Also, I stated before that Komad and Alkéa are descended from Revan in previous RP's. In fact, it was stated in the first RP that they share his last name)

((He was thinking of the old lore master Petronius. We are at crossroads because the whole premise behind the Starlighter family is that they were descended from Revan. Ashira-Li's particular line was the joining of Revan's daughter and Kirabaros' son. That was the reason for tainted blood comments and such. Broken Wounds explains a little of it and Children of the Jedi goes a bit more))

(Well, I think I implied in the first RP that Revan also had a son, and I guess the Kaltas family would be descended from from Revan's son, while the Starlighter family would be descended from Revan's daughter. It might be an interesting idea for the two families to have a distant relation. I hope this fixes the problem)

"I assure you, my family is descended from Revan." Komad replied. He then thought about how the Archives briefly mentioned Revan fathering two children, but records only existed for one of them. He always assumed the other died as a child, but no records of that existed either. Still, the thought of a common lineage with Master Starlighter was worth considering further.

((Yeah the minor point of my version of Revan is female is moot. We'll use the male version. Don't worry about it.))

"It is well known that Revan fathered a daughter and she knew the son of the Guardian." Tonatius looked at the Jedi master with some suspicion. To claim heritage to Revan was what many have done and have been proven falsely.

(it's probably best that way since I made mention of a male Revan in parts I and II, going so far as to show his grave in Part I

edit: here are the two most notable references to Revan I made in previous RPs

Before meeting with the Republic forces, Alkonium entered his family tombs on Rhen Var. He knelt down at the first grave within the ancient structure. Here lies the body of Kale Kaltas. Known to most as Revan, he saved the Republic from Darth Malak, his former apprentice. He was survived by his wife, Bastila Shan Kaltas, and his son Owen. it read.

Komad thought of the last time a Kaltas was on Taris. It was over four thousand years ago, his ancestor, known as Revan to most, but to his closest friends was known as Kale Kaltas. He and Carth Onasi had entered the Lower City, gaining the allegiance of Gadon Thek, and now, over four millennia later, things had finally come full circle.
)

Komad could tell that Tonatius was suspiscious, so he decided to prove his point. "Revan's body is interred in my family's tombs on Rhen Var, as are all who are descended from him, at least descended from his son. Oddly enough, his daughter is not buried there, nor is there any mention of her in the Jedi Archives past her birth." He stated, starting to wonder about what became of Revan's daughter and why there was no mention of her in the Archives or on her father's grave.

"That is because she knew the Heart of the Guardian," Tonatius repeating his statement. He was still suspicious but was willing to concede that the Jedi Master was not one to lie. "She knew the Guardian. The Jedi are divided."

"The call of home," Andros repeated. "The stories say here is where the Force began which is why we have so many Jedi. Which reminds me I must see Miklos." Seeing the blank looks on his audience's faces he explained, "My mother's adopted brother. He will be training the unit you lead Gieph."

((The knew I took from old Bible phrasing to indicate marriage etc. It sounds ambigous and gives a bit of mystery as to what he means.))

(Yeah, I know what that means, though I am far from religious

Also, Tysyacha won't be able to join us for a while, but she'll probably be able to make it for Part V, so I'll . We really need a third person regardless, so I asked Alexander the Great to come back to the RP)

"That still doesn't explain why her death is not on record." Komad commented. "What is it that makes my claim so hard to believe?" He still sensed some suspicion in Tonatius, which was understandable, as most believed the line to have died out millenia ago.

"Good, we'll need others with experience." Gieph replied. Though he was somewhat experienced fighting in this part of space, this was nothing compared to the knowledge of the Avalonians.

((ok. we just have to make do.))

Andros led the way to the training courtyard. There were several very young warriors forming a circle. In the center was an older warrior and off to the side was a bench full of more very young warriors. He stopped his group to watch. He grinned.

The old warrior barked something in Avalonian and the younger warriors surrounding him began to attack. It was over before it began as the older warrior deflected the advances with practiced ease. He did it unarmed and when the younger warriors were on the ground he relaxed and spoke in Avalonian.

Andros, amused, withdrew the katana blade he had for years and said, "Maybe we should look sharp."

The older warrior turned to look at the group. He said, "Alright. Been a while since I knocked a youngun in place."

"Had your fair share earlier."

"One more doesn't hurt."

"You're on."

Andros stepped in and pointed his blade at the warrior who retrieved one of his own. The warrior attacked first. The only sound that could be heard was the clashs of the blades and smoke was coming from the heated metal. The warrior managed to grab Andros from behind and get him in a chokehold.

Andros countered by raising his leg till it connected with the warriors head. Then with a deft twist he had the warrior's blade locked with his. He said, "Had enough?"

"Mother's son," the warrior replied and unlocked his blad and sheathed it, "What have you brought me this time nephew?"

"An old friend." Andros motioned to Gieph, "Gieph this is Miklos, my uncle."

Jun-la had been bothered by what she had seen and decided to go back home. Her brother Tulre had followed her back to the ship they came in. They were heading to the cockpit when a lazy drawl came from it, "You planning on leaving without me?"

"Not fast enough," Jun-la muttered to herself. Aloud she said, "Doing what I have to do. The Jedi of Avalon are divided and an ancient enemy is revealing itself."

"We can't ask you to come Matton," Tulre added.

"Hey you'll need someone to get you out this scrape."

"Many have claimed what you claimed and have been proven false. Only one knew the secret but enemies have found out and tried to destroy them." Tonatius' eyes searched Komad for a hint of deceit. "Most who claimed have been out to destroy."

"As I stated before, it can be traced back within the family crypt on Rhen Var, plus, Revan's real name, or at least the name he used from the end of the Jedi Civil War to the end of his life was Kale Kaltas. Even the records on Avalon refer to him as such. A common last name is worth considering." Komad replied honestly. "I do suppose it's a bit hard to see a half-Twi'lek as Revan's descendant, but we should return to dealing with this Rashikian."

"Quite the training regiment you have here. I always thought the Republic needed to provide troops with more melee combat training, but how good are they with blasters? Sure, they may seem clumsy and random, but the Republic troops seemed to know what they were doing." Gieph asked.

"If you refer to the Rashikians holding a blaster, you are way off mark." Miklos looked at his audience, "They can shoot as good as anyone here but they are of us. They never forgot the way of the sword."

Tonatius thought that Komad was insulting him but he didn't letter that show. Instead he replied, "And what records where those on Avalon? We may know names but only those of the warriors, not amnesiacs."

"I meant your men." Gieph replied. "I've always recommended training in both ranged and melee, because if you're weak in either, the Rashikians could easily exploit that weakness."

"He was a great warrior regardless of amnesia. The name is there. Regardless, we should get back to the task at hand instead of debating my family history." Komad replied.

"As I said earlier, they have not forgotten the way of the sword but if you refer to target practice, you will find that the warriors here are capable. I will show you," Miklos then motioned to show the way.

"The family is important. That is why he takes so long to rise up," Tonatius spat out. The Rashikian grunted something and gave what sounded like a chuckle. Tonatius barked at him and held his grip. "The family is the key."

"In that case, we should discuss this with Master Starlighter as soon as possible." Komad replied. "Roan's murder isn't the only reason you felt the need to protect me, was it? And that wasn't even connected to the Rashikians; a lightsaber killed him, and Rashikians don't use lightsabers."

"They do if they were once trained," Tonatius replied, "They prefer the sword but to take the weapon of an enemy signifies their ability." He then barked at the Rashikian who was trying to worm his way away. He spoke in the second river spoken by the warriors.

Miklos never stopped remembering his adopted sister. She was so evident in her son as well as his father. The younger siblings either showed their mother or their father but Andros was the only one to have a blend of both. His parents had been his greatest friends and family. They had shared much during the Clone Wars and now they were both gone. His nephew, his blood brother's son had a daughter that married a Jedi as well. She had two sons one on Coruscant now. It all comes down to family.

They arrived at the range where warriors were shooting ranged weapons such as blaster rifles, pistols and what seemed odd enough, spears and bows and arrows. Some of the range weapons were Mandalorian, a gift from the ancestors of Amshrey. He asked Gieph, "Would you like to see a volley of three?"

"That would imply that learning to use a lightsaber is easy, and I doubt anyone would teach them. Still, a common lineage with Master Starlighter would certainly give the Rashikians greater reason to target my family." Komad commented. He then found an empty cell, closed the door, cut some small holes in it with his lightsaber, and opened it again. "Might as well throw him there now. He's annoying and he smells bad." He added.

"That should be interesting." Gieph commented. As he watched the Avalonian soldiers, he thought of the legends of Republic Soldiers in the Old Republic, and how they fought with both blasters and vibroblades, and would often emerge victorious against overwhelming odds.

(I'm assuming that Rashikians look like orcs considering your explanation of them and the parallels with the orcs of LOTR, and how you stated that Avalonians look like elves)

"Not even Sith are this deformed, but I know what you mean. The Dark Side of the Force causes one's body to rot away, but I've never seen it twist a person's features like the Rashikians. Is that just due to Avalonian physiology that their features are warped like that, or does it allow them to fall further down the Dark Side where the decay might kill a person?" Komad asked. He knew that the Rashikians had fallen to the Dark Side, but was curious as to why he had only ever seen one actually use the Force. "Don't worry, we have security cameras all over."

((Something like that. It is hard to get a good look because they stink of death and no one wants to get close enough to see.))

"When they kill, they get a taste for death. Those that continue smell like him. Vader smelled but none that you could have smelled," Tonatius replied. He didn't fear that Rashikian escaping. It was untested and it failed. More likely it would kill himself for the failure in some way. "There have been Humans who look like the dark ones. The Jedi who first turned and betrayed the Jedi, the ones who never forgot in their hearts."

Miklos had nothing to say about the performance of his warriors. He had been training youthful soldiers into battle toughened warriors for years. His sister entrusted that to him in not so many words and he carried it out. He was amused at the impressed looks that the Republic Human got on his face as his warriors used blaster and arrows in their volleys. They were so disciplined that the "enemy" could return fire and they wouldn't flinch but keep on as ordered. He led the way out and asked, "So, do you doubt their ability? The enemy lives by the sword. More than likely they will fight that way."
