"Palpatine." Komad simply commented, having seen images of him in the Archives. "Master Skywalker should be informed of this soon."

Andorra at least wanted to make sure Tonatius was safe, so she sent a transmission to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, hoping he'd be there to answer. Instead, it was Kalla who answered. For a moment, Andorra was taken aback, as she had never seen anything quite like this girl before. She was intrigued by her unique appearance, but got back to the point. "Uh, by any chance is there a Tonatius Iazoki in the Jedi Temple?" She asked. "Yeah, he's busy with my father right now." Kalla responded. "And you are?" Andorra inquired. "Kalla Kaltas. My father is Jedi Master Komad Kaltas." Kalla replied. "Well, tell Tonatius that Andorra was asking about him." Andora stated, and her image faded out.

"That means they know how you fight just as much as you know how they fight. If you change your methods, you throw them off, and gain the upper hand. But if they have changed, doing the same will put you on even ground, and they lose the advantage. Either way, you're better off if you do." Gieph pointed out.

"An enemy fought all throughout one's life becomes like a book but perhaps you are right. We have been using more of the blaster rifle style and our scientists have had fun modifying them to make them more precise," Miklos replied with a grin on his face. He went and picked up one of the sniper rifles and handed it to Gieph. "Designed for accuracy down to the smallest measurement you can think of. Scope designed to hone onto a kill zone for a kill shot. Popular among the young ones who fancy themselves scoundrels."

"Older," Tonatius replied, "Older than him. Long ago before Avalon became one with the Republic." He looked out the window at the sun. "There must always be dark just as there must always be light." He stared at the sun and the background of Coruscant and watched the sky traffic.

In the battered ship, Jun-la was looking forward at nothing in particular. Indeed she thought she was looking at Coruscant. There was a reason that she made that connection with the boy and she wanted to know. Her companion was kind enough not to rib her and concentrated on flying the ship only to stop every now and then to be mean to R4.

Tulre was practicing his saber techniques from the Shi-Cho Order. Even though he was a flirt at time and a show off, he took his skills seriously. He knew that his grandmother was a Shi-Cho handmaiden and a Haida warrior through adoption and skill. His father often said he took after her in skill along with hsi sister but his true character came from his mother and grandfather.

Honoring one's family line was a sacred thing to all Avalonians. Often it was said to put unneccessary pressure on younger generations to give the same as their elders. Tulre didn't think it so. He knew his grandmother was one who was not traditional in every sense of the word. She had one foot in Avalon and one foot in the Republic. She was raised with both sets of principles. In the end she followed her heart. Tulre thought that part was more like his sister. She tended to follow her heart and what she thought was right. It seemed to be a family tradition of sorts. He wondered how his namesake put up with his grandmother those years they trained together.

"True. The Sith are never truly defeated and neither are the Jedi. Your father knew as much after Darth Mortis died, and I suspected as much after Roan was killed last night." Komad replied, and he spotted his daughter running towards them.

"Hey Tonatius, by any chance does the name Andorra mean anything to you?" Kalla asked.

(I don't think that Tonatius would know anything about Andorra being a lesbian, as she's nowhere near as open about it as any other LGBT character thus far)

"Do you mind if I try it out?" Gieph asked. He then rested the sniper rifle on the ledge, aimed for the target furthest away, and fired. "Impressive, most impresssive. Optimal accuracy and precision, with minimal recoil. What I wouldn't have given for one of these during the war."

"Funny thing is we don't believe in fighting yet we train as if going to war," Miklos gave a lopsided grin. "Ironic really."

"Sometimes to maintain harmony, chaos must be brought," Andros added softly.

"Everything exists in a delicate balance, including the Force. Few can understand the balance fully and that it must be maintained and why evil must be allowed to exist," Miklos continued. "It's part of what drives training and why our scientists like to play with your technology."

Tonatius checked a sigh. His mother's cousin checking up on him again. He replied, "Mother's cousin. What does she want?"

"It's the same in the Republic. Don't you have a saying 'Those who do not live by the sword can still die upon it?' We only fight when it is necessary." Gieph commented.

"Really? She didn't look much older than you. Anyway, it sounded like she just wanted to know were alright." Kalla replied. "Makes sense. I don't think he told anyone where he was going, so they're probably worried about him, though that would raise the question of how this Andorra knew to contact him here on Coruscant." Komad pointed out.

"She seemed nice enough, though she looked a bit nervous when she saw me." Kalla commented. "You know it's fairly rare for someone to be a mix between three species, though I know what you mean. I'm a mix between only two species, and I get that from time to time." Komad suggested.

"She always was a worrier," Tonatius replied after acknowledging their comments with a slight nod.

"Well we're back here on Coruscant. What do you want to do now?" Matton asked as he stretched out.

Jun-la replied, "To find a missing piece." She had been doing a lot of thinking. It seemed possible but she had to make sure. The Archives had reference to Avalonian history since the day that Revan arrived so it should be there.

"Uh, alright."

Miklos showed his audience more of the training that went on. He knew battle well. He fought in the Clone Wars and helped the Rebel Alliance. He was his sister's right hand and his brother had been the left. Wen his brother died during the Clone Wars leaving behind a wife and son, he became both. He knew Andros was more than capable in his abilities. Some were rather...intense. Miklos would keep his promise till the day he died and protect his nephew.

At the barracks he said, "I know that it is rather a bleak outlook but I had beds prepared in the barracks for you." He looked at Andros and then Gieph waiting for any protests.

(Do you think that Jun-la's return to Coruscant could tie in with a bit of a plot twist I'm planning?)

"Well, I'm going speak with the Council on this as soon as possible, you two should make sure there are no other Rashikians in the Temple." Komad stated to Kalla and Tonatius. "Sure, dad, but aren't we a bit, um, ill-equipped to be looking for Rashikians?" Kalla replied, slightly scared of possibly having to fight a Rashikian. "Tonatius should be able to handle them." He told her.

"You've got no complaints from me." Gieph replied. He knew that it may not have been the best arrangement, but he was here for a reason that necessitated it, and was more than willing to concede.

(Well she was coming back to meet Tonatius. She hadn't met him before and try to figure out why she connected to him. I was leaning towards what my unfinished fic Children of the Jedi was leaning towards)

"There are none," Tonatius replied, "One was sent. If he failed then he dies. Success and he is promoted." He looked at his audience. "His thoughts read like a book and there is no other presence around."

Miklos sensed the oh well and said, "They are the best in the barracks. We finish training tomorrow and formation assignments will be given. Is that satisfactory?"

Tyrannus knew what he was dealing with. He hated the fact that his ally knew every movement and dictated it to him like he was an animal. Still the arrangement had worked before with his ancestor against the Guardian four thousand years ago and it will again. He knet before the altar to his ancestors to pray fo them as the honoring of ancestors went for his people.

(well, the plot twist really involves the identity of Roan's killer being an old enemy thought dead, and I figured Jun-la could be involved in the chase that ensues between them and Komad after an attempt on his life)

"Well, find something productive to do. I have to speak with the rest of the Jedi Council on this." Komad told Tonatius. "It might be a good idea for you to be there as well."

"Good. The sooner we're ready to mount a defense, the better." Gieph replied.

(Any chance you could check out the Casting Call for my new RP Heroes of Nentir Vale? I'm having some trouble getting it off the ground)

"Follow." Komad replied, and led Tonatius to the Council Chambers.

"It appears that this crisis might not be as far off as it may seem. The Rashikian attacks on border space may " Komad stated. "What do you mean?" Kol Skywalker asked. "Earlier today, with the aid of Tonatius Iazoki, I discovered a breach in Temple Security: a Rashikian had somehow infiltrated the Temple." Komad pointed out, noticing a look of concern from his wife as he spoke. "We have successfully detained him, but we do not know how long we have to interrogate him before he decides to kill himself. Our Archives are sorely lacking in data on the Rashikians, but fortunately, Tonatius, with his half-Avalonian heritage, is fairly knowledgeable about them."

(I'm implying that either the Rashikian killed himself before they had a chance to interrogate him, or the interrogation went long into the night. Either one works with me, though it might be a good idea for Tonatius to be at the Kaltas family's apartment)

"In that case, Tonatius, I'd like you to help me get what information we can out of that Rashikian, if he's still alive." Kol told Tonatius. "We will have to investigate this matter of security breach as well."

That night, Komad sensed a dark presence in his apartment as he lay in bed. Though he knew it was someone he had never met, there was something oddly familiar about it. HE then slipped into his tunic, grabbed his lightsabers, and opened the door to the bedroom before Roan's killer had a chance to. "You will not slay me as easily as you slew Roan, assassin." Komad stated. He could not see the assailant's face; it was far too dark and a hood covered as much as possible. "I am no mere assassin 'Master' Kaltas, and he deserved to die regardless; he mingled with other men." The assailant replied. This angered Komad, as the same could truthfully be said about him, but as the words left his lips, the dark presence became much more familiar. "Your voice is different, but your prejudice and your blind hatred are unmistakable, Virul." Komad responded, activating his lightsaber.

Tonatius agreed willingly and gave what he knew from his training at the Water Benders Academy. When they went to interrogate however, the Rashikian was less than cooperative. He refused to answer questions until he launched himself at Tonatius who suspended him in midair. The Rashikian responded by making a sound that grated on Tonatius' ears. The Rashikian ended up inpaling himself on his seat but not before saying, "The One who waged war before will rule once again and the Guardian will die!"

That night Tonatius went with Master Komad to his apartment. It was agreed that he was better at sensing out Rashikians and could lay an element of suprise. Tonatius was given a small room and spent the night meditating in the darkness.

((Going to take a slight liberty and hope that it works with a suprise))

Tonatius heard the sounds of movement before the voices. He pulled out his sword and walked quickly to where Master Komad and the dark presence were having a standoff. He burst in ready to draw his sword but was forestalled by a force that seemed to grab him by the throat. His throst felt tight and he was aware that his feet were no longer touching the ground.

Jun-la could not be bothered to speak to the Council. She sensed danger and needed to act. She grabbed an airspeeder without so much as a leave of her brother who silently agreed to go to the Council and apprise of the situation. Matton followed her saying, "Isn't impatience one of those dark side things?"

"Impatience can lead to the dark side but when you sense things that are going to happen, you can't help but try to change them," Jun-la replied keeping her eyes on the road. She knew Coruscant like the back of her hand but occassionally there were those who tried to be dare devils.

"So you sense something that needs to be changed? More likely you are putting that pretty nose of yours into a place it doesn't belong." Matton leaned back in his seat obviously intent on enjoying the ride.

Jun-la cast a slight glance at Matton before sending the speeder into full speed and making an abrupt turn. She began making a series of turns at her speed. She watched as Matton tried to hang on and began asking her if she were out of her mind. She gave a slight smile and kept going.

They arrived at the apartments within ten minutes. Jun-la wasted no time and jumped out with her lightsaber in hand. On her belt was the katana that had been in the family for centuries. She ran towards her father's friend's apartment with the same speed as she would across the kataran plains. She could sense a tightening of the throat but a strong will and immediately determined it to be the boy. Concentrating she burst in and at the same time ignited her lightsaber.

She didn't have to look to see the boy being released. She knew. She focused her eyes on the dark presence. She said, "You will not harm him."

Matton came right behind Jun-la and watched as she burst in the apartment. He could feel a wind starting to pick up and if he were not mistaken, he could see the formation of storm clouds. He could make out the glow of Jun-la's lightsaber and heard her say, "You will not harm him."

"Let the boy go, Virul. Your fight is with me." Komad firmly told Darth Virul. "As you wish Komad." Virul then activated his own lightsaber and attempted to stab Komad with it, but Komad activated his second lightsaber and successfully parried the attack away. "Whose body are you possessing this time?" Komad angrily inquired. "It matters not. It has been in my possession long enough that it is now mine and mine alone." Virul told him. "I always knew Scooter's death was in vain." Komad commented. "But you never did have the heart to tell your sister that, did you?" Virul asked. "Leave her out of this." Komad demanded. "You're so worried about your sister, when I could easily kill that Rodian harlot you care so much about." Virul threatened, spotting Greea asleep through the doorway. He then began to Force Choke her before Komad kicked him in the chest. "You have become a formidable adversary, half-breed, but are you willing to kill me to protect her?" He commented. "I know what you're capable of when you're dead." Komad replied, and Force Pushed him to the other side of the room.

The wind began to pick up inside the apartment as Jun-la drew on her power. Her amber eyes flashed as her blade glowed in the dark. She said to Virul, "You may possess those who give in to you but only after you break them." Her blade seemed to glow brighter with the intensity of her power.

Matton had drawn his blaster and squeezed a shot off at Virul.

((Jun-la is in Komad's apartment just in case you didn't know))

(In case you've forgotten, Greea, Komad's wife and Kalla's mother, is your character)

"That is not all I am capable of." Virul replied, and after deflecting the shot so it grazed Matton's shoulder, struck Jun-la with Force Lightning. Kalla rushed into the living room, panicking, and Komad immediately told her to get back. "Wake your mother, and make sure she's alright." He told her. Kalla then rushed into her parents' room and tried to wake her mother up. Virul then made his way to the balcony, jumped back into his speeder, and fled the apartment.

Jun-la didn't like being struck by lightning. It stung but she was on her feet and ready to fight. "I suggest you leave." She stood as if the Force Lightning were nothing. A handy trick that some masters back home taught her. She didn't bother to look in Matton's direction for she knew that Matton was alright.

Greea heard the noise and was up. She passed her daughter and said harshly, "Get back!" She came across the scene and saw Jun-la standing ready to pounce, her husband ready with his lightsaber, Tonatius rubbing his neck but had his sword drawn and a strange man pointing a blaster at the dark figure in the apartment. Her eyes widened slightly before she took her lightsaber out. She said, "You!"

An evil grin came upon Darth Virul's face as he saw Greea wake "I see your power now, Rodian. Diminished only by your late training. You could have been the undisputed Dark Lady of the Sith if you had followed in your brother's footsteps. But no, you had to fall in with this filthy half-breed, and what's this, have children even filthier than him. Especially the girl, with her lusting after both men and women, much like her father." Virul told her. This hurt Kalla the most. It was no secret that she was bisexual, but she had never heard anyone speak of it that way before. "Don't listen to him, any of you." Komad told everyone, pointing both his lightsabers directly at Virul. He knew what Virul was trying to do, but he wouldn't let him succeed. This monster had done enough damage to the galaxy.

Jun-la's eyes flashed at the hurtful words spouted at Komad's daughter. She listened to Komad shout to not listen to the hateful words. She said, "Babush le inglishslet!" Meaning "Hateful dark creature" more or less in the second river, the warrior's dialect. She said in Basic, "Despicable creature. Leave here now!"

Virul lowered his hood to show that he, or at least his body, was human. "I am no Rashikian, fool. I am Sith." He told Jun-la. "They were never the only threat." "You were the one using Roan to divide the Senate." Komad suggested. "After that, he was of more use dead than alive. The Republic will tear itself apart, and we will conquer what remains." Virul replied. "I doubt they could without you." Komad pointed out. "You of all people should know what happens when I die, halfbreed." Virul replied. "Who said anything about killing you?" Komad asked. At this point, Virul knew that there was no foreseeable victory here, as he was outnumbered, and they were not willing to kill him. He then fled to the balcony, where he had parked his speeder, and from then, set it in the direction of the nearest spaceport.

"They are one and the same," Jun-la replied, her soft voice holding a steel edge to it. "Sith, Rashikian all the same, the same beginning, the same end." She watched as the creature took off into a speeder. She ran after him. Just after the speeder pulled away, she leaped and grabbed ahold.

Matton thought she was off her rocker when he watched Jun-la charge after the baddie. Still he had the sense to realise that she would need help and took off towards the parked speeder they had taken to get there. He didn't notice the boy Tonatius follow him until they were side by side in the speeder and taking off after their quarry.

Komad rushed into his speeder and joined in the chase. As long as Darth Virul was at large, the entire galaxy was in danger. Too many had died by his hand during the war. "If Virul escapes, we'll have a lot more to worry about than just the Rashikians." He yelled out to Matton and Tonatius.

Virul spotted Jun-la clinging to the back of his speeder, so he made a series of sharp turns in an attempt to throw her off. "You cannot stop me. Even if the Republic survives the Rashikians, it cannot survive itself." He told her.
