"Who was that anyway, mom? He seemed to know you and Dad." Kalla asked her mother after Virul fled and her father went after him. She had never known her parents to have any enemies, and this attempt on their lives gave her reason to start asking.

Spotting a walkway leading to where his ship was docked, Virul jumped out of the speeder, leaving it to spiral out of control towards another apartment building. Komad spotted Jun-la and moved his speeder below Virul's, expecting her to jump off before it hit the skyscraper.

"He was somebody we knew," Greea replied, not sure how to explain. "He was a person loved."

Jun-la watched as the enemy jumped out. She took a firm grip and planted her feet on the speeder. Using the Force she pushed off in a dive. In mid air she flipped and landed in the speeder Matton was in. She didn't pause for a breath as she took a leap and landed on the walkway. She ran in pursuit.

Matton's eyes never left the speeder that held Jun-la. He followed close and with some distance. He never worried for he knew where she was, almost as if by pure instinct. When she leaped off the out of control speeder, he moved to exactly where she was going to land. He wasn't surprised when she leaped out again and in stead maneuvered to land near the walkway.

Tonatius had been startled by her landing into the speeder but he didn't let it show. This Jedi came back for a reason and he was sure she was the one that had spoken to his thoughts. As soon as the older man landed, he leaped out and took off after Jun-la.

(I don't think "loved" is the right word to describe Darth Virul, unless you were thinking of someone else.)

Komad turned his speeder around and drove over the walkway in an attempt to cut Virul off, but as he looked down he realised he was too late. Virul had already reached his ship. "Be it to the Rashikians, or the New Empire, Avalon shall be the first to fall." He shouted out to Jun-la before climbing into his ship and taking off. "May the Force be with us all." Komad quietly said to himself as he realised what Virul's escape would mean for the Republic.

"I don't think I had ever that much hate in a person before. And even then, it was different, it was like there was no reason behind the hate, and what little reason there was explained so little. Some of it was even directed at Andros and I, and I know he'd never met either of us before." Kalla commented. Clearly Virul's prejudice had not diminished at all in twenty years.

((Well think about it. Before his fall he was loved))

Whether it was a fit of anger or an instinctive action, it was not certain, but Jun-la pulled out a tracking device. Taking a windup, she launched it as if she were launching a grenade towards the departing ship. It locked on and she stood watching the ship leave. She walked past Komad and said, "We need to move," and headed twoards the speaker.

"Hatred is powerful and hurtful," Greea replied as she went about cleaning the apartment.

(I suppose. How much exactly do you remember about Virul from Part I?)

"You'll have to go without me. I can't exactly leave my wife and kids in the middle of the night to go after Virul, but may the Force be with you." Komad told Jun-la. "Before you go, there's something I need to ask you about. Involving a common ancestor to both our families."

((Didn't he take over Scooter?))

"Tonatius has proven himself in battle and another will be sent. He is after you," Jun-la replied as if it were the end of the discussion, "and the line of guardians. Yet he serves another master." She settled herself in the speeder and Matton began making his way back to the apartment they had left. She deliberately avoided Komad's inquiry about the family until they were returned. She then asked, "What about the family?"

(that was around the end of Part I, but after Scooter killed himself in attempt to destroy Virul's spirit, he revealed that it did nothing to stop him, and disappeared.)

"I doubt it. He was once the Dark Lord of the Sith, and he probably reclaimed the title after Darth Mortis died. This was personal." Komad replied. He addressed Jun-la's question about the family. "It would seem that both our families are descended from Revan."

"To the first part, he may be a Dark Lord but there is always one who reigns all," Jun-la replied, "As to the second, I know. We are the hidden line of the one who set us free." She stared at Komad waiting with an unnatural calm about her face. Seeing something on the ground aways from them, she reached out and it floated to her. When it was in front of her, she upturned her palm and it settled in it. It was a box of some sort. She had seen it before but waited for the Jedi's answer.

"Virul is not the type to take orders, although there are many ways in which he has have changed. He was a completely different species until his first death twenty years ago." Komad commented. He then looked at the box that Jun-la held up. "It looks like a Jedi Holocron, though this certainly raises further questions." He pointed out.

Jun-la barely heard him. It was something like a holocron but not. There was a certain way to get it open. She just had to...She murmured something in archaic Avalonian and the box sprung to life, opening. She gave a short chuckle and said, "Well those lessons from the Earth-Benders were helpful."

She reached in and pulled out a small sphere. Holding it upright it came to life revealing a holo image of an Avalonian Jedi. The awe effect was spoiled by Matton asking, "Is it me or does that Jedi look a lot like the princess here?"

"No not Master Starlighter," Jun-la replied in a dreamy voice, "This is much older. Taken from a master, possibly ended in death."

Tulre then said something in a similar dreamy voice, "Older, when the wheel last made a turn."

The twins were enthralled with the figure. Tulre knew that it wasn't their father's mother. His mother's hair was a natural dark brown and had blonde highlights, a mark of her affliation with the Haida women. This one had lighter hair, almost a golden brown and the eyes were different.

Matton took a closer look as well. Face value it looked like Jun-la but even he could tell she was different and it was much older. He pointed it out, "The twins are right. This thing is much older. Look at the age spots on the outside."

"Indeed it is. I wonder if Virul stole it in the first place, or if this was secondhand thievery." Komad commented. He looked at the hologram further. Clearly she was important, whoever she was. "Any idea who she is then? That might be of some help in figuring out how it came into Virul's possession. And for once, I doubt Tyrannus had anything to do with this. Different body or not, he'd sense Virul, and they weren't on good terms, even by Sith standards, the last time I saw both of them together."

"Both ruled by the same master," Jun-la replied in her dreamy voice. She peered harder and thought for a moment. Then the words came to her and see murmured them. She placed the sphere on the ground and the image expanded.

Besides the woman there two men standing there. One had green eyes like Andros Starlighter and the other had a sure about cocky look about him. The one with green eyes spoke in the second river Avalonian, "This was made in time gone by for the lines forged that are mine."

The woman then spoke, "Forged for the time when champions meet and again the wheel turns a beat."

The cocky one with brown eyes then said, "So activated by familial ties and they heed the peoples' cries."

Komad thought about this. "It seems they knew about both families descended from Revan, and that means Virul knows." Komad commented. "Are you even sure there is only one enemy? There are too many unconnected events here for this to be part of one single plan. Virul may be using the Rashikians as a means to divide the Senate, but they are not working together directly."

"I don't think so," Jun-la replied. She had been listening to the riddle for some time. "It has always been known that the daughter of Revan had descendants but for the most part, the paternal side has never been known. It is a secret that has been kept by the Loremaster and the family itself, revealed to the few that could be trusted."

"You have any idea?" Matton asked. He had been enamored by the third person in the hologram. He looked sort of like him but also he noticed that the young warrior Tonatius bore a similar resemblance. He thought it one of those wierd coincidences like the doppelganger effect.

Jun-la realized that what she was going to say may be a shock to some. She summoned the datasphere and it deactivated and returned to her open palm. She closed her fist and said, "The paternal side is the bloodline of Kirabaros, the Heart of the Guardian. The woman is the daughter of Revan, my mother, the green eyed one is the son of Kirabaros and the third is the child of one called Atton Rand. his line descended to the wife of Master Hethra and to you scoundrel. They were and are the Children of the Jedi."

(I thought we were sticking to Revan being male)

"My family line is descended from Revan's son Owen Kaltas. His line was known to the Jedi but to few others. Though for millennia we kept the bloodline alive in secret, we still remained wary and did what we could to protect the the galaxy without drawing attention to ourselves." Komad pointed out. "Interesting that neither line is entirely human anymore."

((We are. The woman referred to is his daughter. The daughter is called Jun-la's mother))

"It was always said that Revan was not of known space. Perhaps there is some truth to that," Tonatius replied after finding his breath. He had been suprised to hear of his relationship to the Children of teh Jedi. Their lines were thought to be lost. "According to legend, the Children of teh Jedi were the most powerful. Probably due to the bonds between then."

"That would be obvious since one married another. I am curious though as to how you know this," Matton added, looking at Jun-la.

"Yes how do you know, my Lady?" Tonatius replied, giving the honor due to her.

"My years at home and beyond the Outer Rim. That and the Loremaster helped me."

"Those who are descended from Revan know to keep aware of their heritage." Komad commented. Komad started to wonder what this would mean for his own family, as on his mother's side, he carried Secura blood, and Greea was descended from Jaden Korr. "We should discuss this further in the morning." He then stated. "If you wish to return to my apartment for the rest of the night you may, though I will understand if you would rather go with Jun-la. I would prefer you remain on Coruscant until after we speak to the Council again, however." He told Tonatius specifically.

"Not coincidence this is," Jun-la replied, "Where blood is tied so must it stand together with teh Children of the Jedi. Things happen for a reason and that cannot be changed but as you suggest the Council must be spoken to and I take my leave. Besides I don't think this Virul creature ever touched it. If he did there would be the taint that is like death to our senses." She then turned to head back to the speeder. It had been a long night and she needed the rest.

Tulre and Matton followed leaving behind Tonatius. He was still in slight shock at what he found out. He wanted to know if his mother had known. He gave a slight nod to Komad and followed them.

After returning to the apartment, Komad said to Greea. "I still can't believe that after twenty years, he's 'alive' and causing trouble for the galaxy." And with that, he returned to bed.

The next morning he went to the Council Chambers with the others present at the attack the night before. "Last night, there was an attempt made on my life by an assailant wielding a red lightsaber. He admitted to the murder of Roan Fel, and claimed to be Darth Virul." He told the rest of the Council. "Impossible. Darth Virul was killed twenty years ago. You were part of the mission that ended in his death." Kol Skywalker replied. "I am aware of that. However, shortly after that, his spirit manifested itself during the Battle of Rhen Var, took control of my sister, then the Jedi Scooter Tory, who killed himself in a failed attempt to destroy Virul's spirit." Komad explained. "Then there is far more at stake than we thought." Master Skywalker commented.

Jun-la and the others went back tot he ship. It was clear to Tonatius that she wasn't going to say more that night. He understood that the decision to share knowledge rests with the beholder. It was a Jedi and Avalonian belief that knowledge did hold power and the choice to reveal it had to be weighed carefully. He was content to wait and wait he did until they went to the council chambers in the morning.

He followed Jun-la's lead of kneeling and bowing before the masters. He remainined sitting on her knees as she did when she said, "Indeed the situation is grave my masters. Yet it is a cycle that is destined to repeat time after time. As the elders have said, the wheel has turned full circle. Again a battle must be fought."

"We did not expect the Sith to return so soon." Komad commented. "However, Master Kaltas, this is a Sith Lord that we have encountered before. You know better than I that Darth Virul led the Sith Triumvirate until twenty years ago." Quinlan Vel, Greea's former apprentice, stated. "He might as well be. We have no idea how much he has changed in twenty years, and we don't entirely know what effect possessing other people's bodies might have had on him." Komad added. "We don't actually know for sure that he's really Virul, but that does not make him any less dangerous." Kol Skywalker commented.

"Sith, Rashikian, titles merely for what that darkness of evil is called," Jun-la replied, "The Jedi, the Republic, those of the light. Constant battle to maintain a balance of both. One cannot live without the other. Children of the Jedi cannot exist without the Blood of the King." Jun-la looked at the masters. She held the datasphere in her hand.
