Miltiades
There's just not enough people in Belgium to fill that stadium anyways lolz! Heh. Well, I wouldn't go that far. But it shows how little people care about the Belgian national team these last few years. It's gone downhill since WC2002 (where they almost defeated Brazil - we were robed that day). But there's light at the end of the tunnel, with our young players such as Dembele, Mirallas, Vermaelen and many others. Anyway, I knew there was a rivalry between England and Scotland, I didn't know it went that far. I like that one about the Scottish factories. Pho3nix
Wow. Finally a sports thread which has nothing to do with America. Too bad Finland didn't make it, typical. I'm supporting Portugal dunno why, but I've always liked them.
Ctrl Alt Del
Heh. Well, I wouldn't go that far. Wasn't Belgium a potence on the sports back on... the 40's or something? Or was Hungary?
Miltiades
Wasn't Belgium a potence on the sports back on... the 40's or something? Or was Hungary? I think that was Hungary. They had a strong footballteam at that time. Puskas was their most famous player, I think. He was part of the strong Real Madrid squad which won European title after title. Belgium was particularly strong in the 80's, with their peek in '86 in the World Cup in Mexico, where they reached the semi-finals and lost it against the Argentina of Maradonna which won that World Cup. I think many people still remember the match Belgium-Sovjet Union, legendary that was. We particularly remember the qualifier match between Belgium and Holland, which we won and went through to the World Cup while Holland stayed home. Anyway, we still have some great sportsmen and -women. Justine Henin, Sven Nys, Tom Boonen,...
