RobQel-Droma
After it was recently left vacant by its former resident, an unknown Rodian hermit, Yavin station has been claimed by new owners. Hoping to attract tourism to the ruins that exist on the surface of Yavin IV, Gadrin Val-Urgo has added on to the station and set up a large vacation resort, complete with in-station hotel (luxury suites for the wealthy), cantina (the "Green Gizka", of which a Trandoshan named Terukk is the owner), and shuttles for transport to the surface. 100 credits per night, 75 for a round trip to the surface, it's a bargain you can't ignore.... ~~~ Info.... This is unlike most of the RPs here (although it is based on some of the RPs over at the JK forums), since it has no action, no plot, and no needed char sheets. If you want to join, just jump in with a character. You can converse with other characters in the RP about anything and everything, or wander around the Yavin resort, or even hop down to the surface ruins to poke around with one of Val-Urgo's friendly - or not - tour guides. The rules, of course, are few: no more than three characters - these can be pretty much any race/profession/person, even known characters or non-SW ones if you are so inclined (just keep the madness a minimum); and don't kill other characters, of course. To help the other RPers, a short in-character description of your character(s) would be nice as well. Also, just an FYI, you can control most of the NPCs if you need to, such as Terukk or any others that pop up. ~~~ Jack Halcyon came stumbling through the Green Gizka cantina, his clothes and dark hair in a mess. To most present, he looked as though he had gotten roughed up by a couple of angry sentients who didn't like to lose at Pazaak - which was entirely true. However, Jack regained his dignity, and walked up to the bar, wiping some stray blood off of his face. He straightening the brown vest that covered his white shirt, along with his brown pants that carried a blue pinstripe down the sides. "Wow, it is rough out there." Jack said to Terukk, attempting to smile. Terukk didn't return the favor. "There's, er, some nice weather, though." Jack's smile faded. "Yes," Terukk replied scathingly in his own speech, which Jack understood. "It hardly ever rains here in the station." "I meant... nevermind." Jack sat down. "Just gimme a Corellian ale." Writer
''And while we are on the subject of weather, I'll have an Ithorian mist." The speaker looked to be in her mid to late twenties, with dirty blonde hair brushing her shoulders, rich brown eyes, the slightest trace of a smirk on trace of a smirk on her lips, almost like she knew something highly amusing and was not about to tell. Her clothing was by no means showy and she wore no visible weapons, but eight burly near-humans stood not far away, obviously keeping an eye on her. "So tell me your story, stranger," she remarked to Jack as her drink was set before her, "if you are willing. And if you are not, then in silence we shall drink." She raised her glass in a half-mocking salute and fell silent to let him speak if he wished to do so.
RobQel-Droma
"Oh, er... absolutely." Jack looked a bit taken off balance. "I mean..." He cleared his throat. "Certainly." "Well," he started, regaining some of his bravado, "I just happened on to this lovely station resort while doing a little tour of the major pazaak championships. Unfortunately, most of them didn't go so well." Jack grinned. "Not that I lost, but - well, some didn't quite like how I won. Normally, I wouldn't care, but every once in a while you win against the wrong guy, and.... well, I- he- I got, um, framed for cheating on that particular game, down on Taris." "Now, I'm a pretty good pazaak player, y'know. But, I pretty much lost all my winnings, first to the sponsors of the tournament, then to pay the other schutta off. So, here I am, trying to scrounge up a few credits. Pretty much all there is to tell." Jack took a big drink, and looked his companion. "Sure," a voice cut in. Terukk leaned over the bar, "And I'm actually the old rodian hermit, pretending to be a trandoshan bartender so I can stay on the station. If you look in the back room, you can see all my treasures." The trandoshan scoffed and turned around. "Er, hehe..." Jack looked back at her. "Don't mind him, he doesn't really like me that much." "But what about you, miss?" Jack took another drink. "I didn't catch your name."
steven
Accompanied by a blue Twi'lek partner in crime, wearing half attire, and a large Trandoshan body guard, Captain Steven Solidus entered the bar before asking one of the waiters for a VIP table, using 200 credits as a pass. The trio was brought to a corner table where the padded walls illuminated by purple neon, met the padded seats. Steven slid himself to the far end, before jiggling around until he found comfort. Then he turned to his Trandoshan body guard to issue the order to fetch something from the bar. Steven wanted something strong, and yet wouldn't damage his body from drinking. (Sorry thats it's a bit short, however I'm on a time limit.)
Writer
The woman smirked faintly and shook her head. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you," she replied simply. "Nonetheless, as you've asked politely, I may as well give you the courtesy of a name." She turned and extended a hand to him, and in the process, revealed a strange-looking armband on her upper left arm. "Casey Vale." She knew the name was almost sure to ring a bell. Six months earlier, major shipbuilding corporations like Incom, CEC, and KDY were hacked and all of the data on their newest prototypes vanished. In addition, several shipping companies lost the information on the locations and cargoes of their ships and all the holos and viewscreens on both Corellia and Coruscant had been hacked to proclaim, "Rules are made to be broken." Two weeks after the so-called 'Galaxy Hacks', the Galaxy Hacker was identified. Her online alias was 'Grabbit', an alias which had been linked to nearly one-hundred computer-based crimes and seventeen arrests. Without warning, all of the stolen information was returned. Twenty-four hours later, Casey Vale was arrested. Due to her ability to hack her way out of technology-based prisons, Casey was given a swift trial, an armband designed specifically for her, and assigned eight guards to keep an eye on her at all times. Then, she and her guards had vanished, rumored to be traveling so the hackers of the galaxy could not attempt a rescue of the most successful of their number in recent years. And now, it seemed, here she was, sipping an Ithorian mist without much care for who saw her or what they thought of her.
RobQel-Droma
Jack almost spit up half of his drink. "Er.... the Casey Vale? The woman who screwed KDY and Incom and all of them over?" He raised his eyebrows. "You mean to tell me that you're Casey Vale?" He laughed. I thought I was the one bending the truth a little. "Ah, well, I'll humor you. What might one of the greatest hackers in the galaxy be doing in a large public tourist trap such as this?"
Writer
Casey grinned. "Living the high life on the government's credit," she replied casually. "Funny thing about being able to break out of prison is they don't put you in one. They give you this..." She turned and tapped her arm, just below the armband, "... and them..." with a gesture toward the guards, "... and turn you loose." She shrugged. "So long as I don't try to run, or touch technology, I can do what I want. Best part of it is, while they took all my money from me, they pay for anything I want... drinks, the finest rooms, you name it... provided it's technology-free." She laughed. "Won't even let me near casino games."
Black Knight of Keno
((Welmin's ripoff much? But heck, I'm game )) An older Weequay gentleman stepped inside the cantina, giving a swift glance around before making his way towards the bar. If you knew anything about Weequay as a species, you'd know he wasn't exactly at the peak of his life. When compared to the normal Weequay you could find wandering about, he was old and slightly hump-backed as well as having a near full set of hair which gave out that he had been away from his home planet for a very, very long time. His cane hitting the floor gave a sharp clack every time it made contact. The man's clothing was rather special as well, being of some sort of an ancient Jedi robes design with some more modern twists included as well as having enormous shoulder pads that were at least three times as big as regular ones. Nonetheless, the man was roughly as agile as he had been while a young boy and joyfully sat on a stool to wait service. Once he had it, he would order some sort of a non-alcoholic beverage. ((Writer, can you guess who this old fart is?))
RobQel-Droma
((( ((Welmin's ripoff much? But heck, I'm game )) well.... yea, pretty much. it just inspired me so much.... ))) "You've got to be kidding me." Jack looked at her with amazement. "Pardon me if I'm a little bit skeptical, but... is there a way I could see this paradise in action? Man, if I could do that...." he trailed off. "Of course, not like I can't get money for myself. I just have to play pazaak for it." Jack looked up as an elderly Weequay entered the room. "I'll never call it 'free money' again." "So why are you here? Just trying out the latest in luxury hotels? I imagine that you don't mind being a prisoner." Jack felt like he was in the presence of royalty. Maybe she wasn't lying, maybe she really was the famous hacker. Maybe- maybe she could help him out with some of his problems.
Writer
((Yeesh, BKK... do you ever created a new character? Recently? )) With a light laugh, Casey stood and gestured to Jack. "Tell me what you want to see and we'll make it happen..." She snapped her fingers and one of the guards came over. Still chuckling, Casey remarked to Jack, "Funny how in my situation, the words 'guard' and 'servant' are almost synonymous..."
RobQel-Droma
"Well, I'll have to think of one. Or perhaps, set up a situation which would allow you to show me your talents." Jack looked around and spotted a Weequay sitting on one of the stools nearby. The Weequay, still waiting to be served, was wearing an odd combination of Jedi-like robes and enormous shoulder pads. "Have any idea who that is?" Jack asked Casey.
Writer
Casey shook her head immediately. "I don't tend to keep track of the Jedi crowd... not even the ones who don't look entirely like Jedi." One of her guards stepped forward and whispered in her ear. She listened for a moment before reluctantly turning to Jack. "Seems we're heading off sooner rather than later," she said. With a grin, she added, "They don't like it much when I just out and tell people who I am. Leaves a trail, they say." She snorted. "If there are hackers out there still trying to 'rescue' me, they haven't managed to catch up yet... not even with all the times I've dropped my name around the galaxy..."
