urluckyday Posted January 21, 2008 Share Posted January 21, 2008 Hey, so I've been reading about the new "Kindle." from Amazon.com. It looks pretty cool. Anyone got one already or even just tried one out? I think that it's pretty cool that anyone can submit content that can be sold on Amazon.com for it (or at least that's how it seems to me). Those leeching intermediaries, agents, book cos etc, can get totally sliced out by authors who can focus on the quality of their work rather than the bottom dollar. Great for up'n'coming, young writers, even fanfic peeps - now if such a device could be adapted to handle comics - the attractiveness of it would double - though probably the cost too >> still, I see second hand older school large screen pdas that can be used for this purpose going dirt cheap nowdays - not good in glare though > still great indoors I think Im going to have to give it a try mtfbwa Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I usually dont get approached by strangers in such a fashion though OT: Heres one of many - pages do seem to come up nice in light - interesting to not eit has an sd card too I also understand why the price is so high - its an evdo cellular device - ie. you can get your books anywhere you can get a cellular line - and you dont need to pay an extra subscription just for the cellular service.
