Here is the playable Beta of the simplified, full-size SA 80. I got this idea from SW01. As you can see from the circled area in the screenshot, there is a clipping issue with the magazine when the player is not using the weapon. Otherwise, it seems to be out of the way. So, here is the question: Would you rather have the magazine where it is supposed to be, or have it on the side?

Very nice work e-varmint. I would rather have the clipping issue then the magazine on the side. The only weapon systems that I know of that have side feed ammo are the belt feed machine guns like the M-2, M-60 Browning, M-249 SAW.

Thanks! I think I will probably release both with V1.0. I need to fix something on the texture of the first one, but I oughtr be able to have a final out in a few days.

 

@SW01: How about a shillelagh to go with it? Something like this:

I know, I just wanted to add the camo pattern also:D Unfortunately, the camo makes it hard to see the side-mounted magazine.....

I will definitely give the black/green a valiant attempt.

Of course, I was going for stainless, so mine looks nada like the photo.

 

The one below appears to have a black/green color scheme that should show up good in-game.

 

Edit: It would be good practice, so I think I will make the second SA80 model also. I'll make them both black/green unless someone reallly likes the stainless one.

Considering it must be a little painful to have that magazine through the arm I'd prefer the sided magazine version you know ... I like the whole model specially that threatening bayonet
