Joshi
1. I don't recall http://www.milegend.com shutting down, but I could be wrong. 2. Nope, no word on MI5 3. Ron still won't tell us, despite us asking him many times. We've kind of let it rest now, he'll tell us when he's ready (or when he's made one up). 4. I don't know the issue, I'd suggest simply not adjusting any settings.
daventry
I want to know something else about the Monkey Island Series. In the end of Monkey Island 2, Guybrush fell through the pit and endid up in the real world at some Carnivall with him and Lechuck as two children, then in Monkey Island 3, we see Guybrush lost at sea in a Bumper Car, what happened. In the end of Monkey Island 3, we see Guybrush and Elainne being kidnapped on Monkey Island at the Carneval, now going through the Quest we see Wally and in the end we kill Lechuck, did i miss something or was a chunk of the Game cut out. When did Guybrush saved Ellaine, because we see them all of a sudden on a boat and married and wheres Wally.
LordTrilobite
In the end of CMI Elaine escaped the undead guards and altered the route of the rollercoaster so you wouldn't fall in to the lava, all there was left to do was to defeat Le Chuck. And wally, I guess he's still hangin in the same place.
Giant Graffiti
In the end of Monkey Island 2, Guybrush fell through the pit and endid up in the real world at some Carnivall with him and Lechuck as two children, then in Monkey Island 3, we see Guybrush lost at sea in a Bumper Car, what happened? LucasArts ruined an amazing ending.
Ray Jones
No, I wouldn't say so. I think LCR and CMI fit together pretty well.
Joshi
There's been a lot of speculation on how MI2 and 3 fit together. I think the idea was originally that the whole of the first two games were simply meant to be all taking place inside the stretched imagination of a little boy at a theme park, but then MI3 came along and disregarded that, suggesting that it was actually just a spell that LeChuck had placed upon him. As for the ending of MI3, they'd run out of money at the end so they couldn't explain everything, but what was planned was for Elaine to escape, fight off a bunch of the undead pirates and switch the track so it didn't take Guybrush down to hell, and then she and Guybrush would escape after killing LeChuck. Again, without the money to do this, they simply had to explain that Elaine had switched the track somehow (I think at some point you get back to the bit with her tied up and she's no longer there suggesting she escaped... though I could be wrong I haven't played this game in too long), and thus we get the very short, somewhat underwhelming ending of them sailing off into the sunset after getting married. Captain Blizzard
Money; that's usually the reason for lackluster endings such as the one for CMI. It was extremely rushed, had no emotional climax at all (in direct contrast to LCR). I read an article on World of Monkey Island, a very insightful one where the author speculated indeed whether the whole of the two games was meant to take place inside Guybrush's imagination, and that his brother Chuckie trying to find him inspired the character of LeChuck in his mind. This culminated in Chuckie chasing Guybrush around the staff tunnels at the supposed park; Disneyland has these exact kinds of tunnels. And it makes sense when one notices that Guybrush can take an elevator up to Melée Island from the first game. Chuckie did a LeChuck expression at the end and Elaine was seen still standing above the treasure pit to, according to Ron Gilbert, keep the door open for sequels. As for Big Whoop, I thought the article author made very much sense. If you pick it up in the Underground Tunnels, it's just a ticket. Apparently it's one of those 'free pass' tickets that you can get at Disneyland, and a thing that surely must have been exciting to a little boy. Fealiks
wheres Wally. Above and to the right of the table in the middle. I think if anyone ever did make a Monkey Island movie (of just the first two), it would called things like "mind**** of the decade" and "best plot twist since Fight Club" by hundreds of silly little movie critics. I think that the brilliant ending got dismissed a bit as comedy. :/ Here's to hoping that after Deathspank, Hothead will take on the real Monkey Island 3.
