daveoshea08
Hey guys i got my comp upgraded to: 8800gt 256mb AMD X2 5200+ 4gb ram M2n Sli mobo 1440x900 monitor (or near enough rsolution i know the forst number is correct) I play KOTOR and KOTOR 2 cos they are amazing on my old comp and it ran fine, try it on the above after a few mins (20mins or 2mins just depends on when it wants to mess up) the game either: on full graphics 1. makes the doors and characters shade more black so you can only seel little bits of colour on them, it does this in one area i move out then its fine move back into area goes all black again, floor textures adn wall textures remain normal 2. the characters get stuck, so i cannot move then they spin round on the spot, i switch to a different character and they also get stuck, the texture on the floor seems streched and raised creating a semi transparant wall i'll try to upload pics if possible (any hints on how will be great) I ahd problem with stalker adn armed assault, with them crashing but i got my 177 drivers for gfx card adn they run fine, but kotor still crashes as above. Any help would be most grateful as i really wanna get back into this game again

Det. Bart Lasiter
im using windows XP 32mb i had xp b4 on my old system 32-bit, not 32 megabyte. 1 byte = 8 bits, 1 MB = 1024 bytes = 8192 bits, times 32 = 262144 bits. I wish I had a CPU and OS that supported 262144 bit data types though, I'd love to be the one to prove π is a rational number XD hey i think i managed to upload photos via photobucket just to show you the different problems also another note, the games on the title screen runs really fast, the flashing and smoke around malaks feet seem to be 3 times as fast as it should be running http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r46/daveoshea/?action=view¤t=problem1.jpg notice the dark shades on the character http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r46/daveoshea/?action=view¤t=problem2.jpg notice the fence like texture thats been streched which lockes up my character, can actually move from the spot in this screen http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r46/daveoshea/?action=view¤t=problem3-1.jpg the main screen even flickers fast and i have no mouse too hope these screens help I can't see any problems in the first screen other than the Undercity just being really dark (which it's supposed to be), maybe you're just not used to soft shadows being enabled and causing a few more shadows to be rendered? I'm not sure what's going on in the second screen, all of Kashyyyk's modules are pretty dark and the PC's jaunt into the Shadowlands is even worse. Two questions: 1) is the menu messed up like that in-game; 2) what exactly did you circle? It looks like you circled either a patch of grass or a character with stealth mode enabled and framebuffer effects enabled. To diagnose the mouse thing, post your configuration and full specs according to this sticky. You may also want to try this fix for dual core (AMD) processors and the tips stingerhs mentioned in the thread I linked to before. The links in the AMD dual core fix thread OP about stuff on the AMD website can be found here now. If that doesn't work for you, post your specs like I mentioned above and upload some screenshots of your problems to a site that doesn't auto-resize them like TinyPic or changing your Photobucket settings to cap images to a specific size rather than resolution so we can get a decent look at what's going on with your game. The glitches you're running into are hard enough to see in-game, so full resolution PNG images would be preferred. Edit: Your screens have a widescreen resolution and the Odyssey engine only supports 4:3 aspect ratios, if you're forcing a widescreen resolution with the tool in my sticky or have your drivers set to scale output to fit the screen, undo it or set them to just display a 4:3 resolution with black bars.
