Christos K Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 Can someone make a Viridian color crystal that also gives you +2 to all attributes and +5 to all skills, you can just place it on any of the crystal formations on Dantooine, if the bonuses cant be done thats fine. Thanks.
Darth Payne Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 I really like this idea, so i hope someone decides to pick it up.
Christos K Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 Man I wish someone would consider doing this mod for me and others who too want it. I have always wanted like a special color for my main PC in KotOR and since Green is my favorite color and Viridian is pretty much the special version of it in Star Wars I would like it.
DarthParametric Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 This is what TSL calls viridian (left) compared to the ordinary green (right). Is that the sort of thing you want? Always looked pretty blech to me.
Christos K Posted November 6, 2008 Author Posted November 6, 2008 If it is possible so there is more Viridian than white like the green saber that would be better. And if possible could someone also make the Upari cyrstal do 7-14 dmg bonus and the Krayt Dragon crystal do 5-10 dmg bonus.
Darth Payne Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Hmm, if it is possible to add those damage bonuses to the crystals uti files, and have it work ingame without 2da editing, i could do that. Edit: If i can figure out how to do it that is. Looking at the Dragon Pearls uti now, can't really figure out how to change it to do 5-10dmg.
Christos K Posted November 6, 2008 Author Posted November 6, 2008 I was pretty sure it was possible anyways thanks for the try.
Darth Payne Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Someone with more experience on crystals can probably do it. I've never even tried before, which is most likely why i can't at the moment figure it out. I'll keep trying though.
DarthParametric Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Christos K said: If it is possible so there is more Viridian than white like the green saber that would be better. You can make it whatever colour you want. It all depends on what you define as viridian. I was just showing the TSL version as a comparison (which is actually nothing like the true colour of viridian). Here's a good starting point - http://home.i1.net/~dwolfe/hexmixer/grenmx.html See if anything there approaches the shade of green you want.
Star Admiral Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Are the .uti files for K1 the same as those for TSL? If they are, I could make the crystals, but I'll need someone else to test it for me, as I do not currently have a working copy of K1. - Star Admiral
Darth Payne Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Well, i've still got the crystal uti's if you want them.
Star Admiral Posted November 6, 2008 Posted November 6, 2008 Sure thing. If you could send them to me, I'll edit them and send them back so you can test them. I can also try my hand at editing the blade color, but I'll need the .tga file for the viridian color from K1. *mutters to self* I really need to buy a copy of K1. - Star Admiral
DarthParametric Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 There is no viridian in K1, just TSL. You'd be better off starting with the normal green in any event and then adjusting the levels in Photoshop or the like.
Christos K Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 Well thanks Star Admiral it looks like you are gonna help us with this. Also does anyone know how I could change Oldflash's Darth Vader hilt to this Virdian color after it is done. Not so I can release it ofcourse just for personal use if its not something I can acomplish maybe I could PM or email him asking him to help me with it.
DarthParametric Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 You could hex edit the hilt and change the name of the blade texture it uses to your custom one. However, Oldflash's movie hilts pack (assuming that is what you're using) replaces the default sabers, which means that everyone that uses that hilt (i.e. all the NPC dark jedi) will have green blades instead of red. What you want is a custom crystal that uses that hilt so that only the party can use it. By the way, Vader's hilt with a green blade?? Sacrilege!!
Darth Payne Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Qui-Gons hilt would be a much better idea for this, i think.
DarthParametric Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Yeah that would be a good choice because it replaces the Heart of the Guardian hilt, therefore only the party will ever have it. Plus the HOTG blade colour is pretty bleh anyway. And of course green is the proper colour for Qui-Gon's hilt.
Christos K Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 I guess Qui Gons hilt could be used instead its just that Darth Vader's hilt has always been my favorite I just like its design regardless of the color. Would it still be possible to add the +2 to All Atributes and +5 to all skills.
Darth Payne Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 I do believe that Admiral is working on that. I sent him the crystal files.
Star Admiral Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I'm working on it. It shouldn't be too long before I'm done with it. I'm still trying to get a good looking viridian saber. Give me a bit longer and I'll post some screenshots to show my progress. - Star Admiral

Christos K Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 Yah the viridian in TSL isnt very good and there is just too much white like I said before. Edit: Star Admiral did you decide to overite the HOTF color like DarthParametric and Darth Payne suggested?
Star Admiral Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 I might, or I might overwrite the default green color. That is only a last resort, as I'm trying to add viridian as a new color. It'll take a bit longer, but at least no colors would be lost. I've already finished with the attribute/skill bonuses, so if you like, I can send them to you first. - Star Admiral
