DarthJacen
Is it possible to edit the blade models in the game so they don't have that star shape that really looks bad when they point their lightsaber at the player character? They have an example with The Old Republic MMO that BioWare is making let me see if I can post it. I think, everyone else knows about them, too because almost all images that have been posted are with the lightsabers from the side. They look good from the side, but when you look at them from the front, or the back you can see the individual planes. Is the blade model illegal to edit? Or, can I do it myself? I don't want to cause any sort of an uproar. So, please, answer my question, at least. This is what I'm talking about http://starwars.ugo.com/images/games/starwars_knightsoftheoldrepublic/starwars_knightsoftheoldrepublic_2.jpg This is the best image I could find, if I feel bored enough to make my own screenshot, I would. This is what they should look like http://z.hubpages.com/u/165365_f520.jpg

DarthParametric
I am no modder but maybe DarthParametric missunderstoodJudging by this - Is it possible to edit the blade models in the game so they don't have that star shapehe is referring to the fact that the blades are made up of 4 flat rectangular planes positioned in an asterisk type arrangement. Here's a textureless blade to show what I mean: You're stuck with that arrangement.

DarthJacen
Oh ok that explains much better yah DarthParametric is right like I said he is more right than me hehehe. Well, but we can try! This is my best effort! What do you think? Here are the screen shots Blue Green Red Results in-game:
DarthParametric
I'm not sure that altering the texture is going to achieve much to be honest. The blade is still comprised of planes, whatever texture you use.
Hayden Kered
Is it possible to add more planes to the arrangement? And if so will this make a difference? Just a thought!
DarthParametric
No, you can't add or alter planes.
DarthJacen
I didn't try to alter it. I'm trying to hide it by making them all the same color. That way, your eyes have a harder time distinguishing the difference between the two.
