ll_popcorn
You have the UK version? I'll keep that in mind when I update the guide. I actually purchased my copy from amazon.com. So logically, it should be an US edition. Pretty strange.

Car Gently
Thanks for the good information. Can anyone re-up the links on the first page for the "mss32.dll" file? Also... the links to the patches seem to be down. Help? Thanks for any help. I'm running Vista and KOTOR 1. Trying to. Thanks, hope someone can help! Q
I just checked and all of the links are working fine. Maybe FileFront was having trouble.
podad143
Q (or anyone) - have you noticed a higher success rate using built-in/Windows Update video drivers vs. official vendor video drivers, or vice versa? Curious more than anything.
Q
I download my video drivers directly from Nvidia, after waiting a week or two for any potential bugs to pop up. Drivers from Windows Update can be months out of date.
Adam5
I recently have bought a toshiba satellite a215 with windows 7 operating system, and I can't get either of the games to work. Any help?
Q
Can you list your specs? Post your system specs Sometimes we're just not going to be able to help you if we don't know what kind of hardware you have on your machine. If you don't know what you have on your machine, then follow these steps below: If you're using Vista or Windows 7, go into your game folder, find "launcher.exe" and right-click on it. Select "properties", then "compatibility" and check the box beside "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)". Then check the box next to "Run this program administrator" and hit "OK". (EDIT by Q) Bring up the launcher menu for Kotor 1 or 2 (by running "launcher.exe"). Click on "Configure". Click the "Scan Hardware" button on the lower center of the window. Click "Yes" to continue. Click "Details" to view your system specs. Click "Save Report" and save the file to your desktop. Whenever you post your problem, open the file you just saved and copy and paste the contents to your post. You can leave out the keymapping and everything after that. Nerf_Herder_5000
I seem to have a UK version as well. Haven't had any luck finding a patch as yet, anyone able to help with a link? Thx
Q
Have you tried using the updater? KotOR 1's still works AFAIK. Just to be safe, set the swupdate.exe file in the game's main folder to run in XP SP2 compatibility mode as an administrator before running it. Darth_Evil
takisis, what I did was go through all the fixes from the first page and check to make sure I'd done everything right, I found the error I made and fixed it what I hadn't done was transfer one of the files over
innerfears
does anyone know why my keyboard will not work what so ever with kotor 2? and sometimes i get what i guess looks like a hyper flicker of the graphics in game. anyways if anyone can help it be much appreciated. I am having a rather unique problem, similar to this. Every time after killing something, I can't use the W and S keys OR the left mouse button to move around, but can use the keyboard and mouse for other things like pausing (space) and looking around. Just moving forward or backward cannot be done. The only thing that fixes it is reloading a previous save, but starts again after fighting something. oh yeah, I also can't install the KOTOR2 patch, manually or not. the auto update gives an error and the manual patch locks up after supposedly hitting 100%. and for some reason the Config scan hardware report keeps failing my video card, even though I just updated it... help! Slvr
Ahh I didn't do that yet. Is it the swkotor configuration file? I looked everythwere and couldnt find a swkotor.ini file. If so every time I try and add in the line it tells me and save it it just says access denied. Any suggestions?
Q
It should be right there in the game's main folder, along with the .exe.
