Alright Paragon here is a question for you, by the way I love the pic you sent me.

Anyways why the heck is it when I start a random map on AOK, and put several computer fodders in too they all gang up on me from the start. Its like they automatically ally with each other and attack at the same time EVERYTIME!

Now to stop this little game they play I set each nation to its own seperate team number so everyone has a team persay.

Am I doing something wrong, and I hope BG is not going to be like that, I want a free for all without haveing to make different teams.

Computers will generally gang up on you over time, because they offer alliances to each other right at the start..

Even when you divide them in teams, this will happen.

The only way to prevent it, is to put them in separate teams (say: you are team 1, they are all another team) and then click on the 'Lock teams' button on the game-setup screen before you start the game. Then they can't gang up anymore.

Glad you like the pic.

What I do is set me as 1,

another as 2

another 3

another 4

and then lock teams, they attack and battle each other as well, but I would like to have the chance of an alliance or truce.

Why do they call them "random" maps when they really are not random? I mean you can pick a "type" of map and thats about it but other than dropping nations and resourcesit is the same as the type. Or am I wrong?

The reason I am asking all these questions is I am trying to play my conq edition but someone in my household scratched my CD so I am going to have to play AOK not conq. I want to get back into the quick click of the game but these questions pretty much made me toss the games into a drawer for several months.

A 'random' map simply means that the computer generates terrain and resources in a random order.

Looks like you handle the Lock Teams part well. The thing is, with that done, you can't have an alliance because they are on another team. Sometimes computer players look at the score of a player and then suddenly decide they won't team up with him after all. There is a certain logic behind it, but the AI in AOK isn't so advanced that you could manipulate them like that..

Thats alright I guess because my "allies" never help me anyways except in conq edition. I usually "punish" them too for not sending troops or "food please".

There can only be one supreme ruler of the world right? So its a given to make your allies fall because they were too weak to see you as an enemy.

hehe, i got nailed that way too when my friend built towers (warcraft) in my area to supposedly help fend off the computer groups. when they all died, he turned off his alliance with me and the next thing you know i had on villagers......
